Thanks for looking, this is the one of the cleanest 68' Ford Mustang survivors on eBay! This gorgeous Highland Green pony is originally from Metuchen,NJ. The outrageous color combo on this mustang really sets it apart from the rest. The gorgeous 2 tone ivy gold interior on this mustang really gives it a killer eye appeal!!

This convertible pony comes highly optioned with things such as a powerful  C Code 289 V8 paired to a smooth 4 Speed manual transmission, power steering, power top, dual bowl brake cylinder, interior console, bucket seats, 2 tone interior,Magnum 500 wheels, brand new white letter radials, the list goes on and on.

The interior of this car is an easy 7 out of 10. The only exception to perfection is two seam splits on the  driver seat bottom. All seating surfaces (Apart from the splits) are great as well as the carpet and dash. The black canvas top on this car has been replaced at some point, shows signs of wear but is not leaking and shows well.

This pony was repainted about 15 years ago and was a very, very nice paint job, but does have very minor chips here and there. Both doors have very minor bubbling on the front corners. The car can be easily driven as is but for a perfect 10 car it could use a repaint. Brightwork is in good original condition.

Mechanically, this mustang is sound. All mechanical and electrical components are in fine working order and this car is ready to drive ANYWHERE you desire. The engine has been refreshed and runs like a dream with ZERO signs of overheating or leaking. All lights function as they should. Tires and brakes are in good functioning condition. Fluids have all been replaced.

The metal work on this mustang is as sound as it gets. Pictures tell the story, the underside appears to be original and in great condition. Frame rails, floor boards, and shock towers are all in good, solid original condition. Not "show" but good original condition.

To sum it up, this is a fine example of American Muscle History. This pony is ready to show or go!! International bidders welcome. Ive described this car as honestly and accurate as possible but as always inspections are welcome and encouraged, by appointment only. Call today with any questions. 305-525-1731

Ford recalling 65k Fusions from 2014 and 2015 because key can be removed

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Ford is recalling an estimated 64,869 examples of the 2014-2015 Fusion, Fusion Energi and Fusion Hybrid in North America because the key can be removed when the vehicle isn't in Park under certain conditions. Specifically, the campaign covers 56,479 units in the US, 6,048 in Canada and 2,342 in Mexico, according to the automaker's tally on November 11.
Ford says a programming problem in the instrument cluster means that the key can be removed 30 minutes after the ignition is turned off, even if the transmission is not in Park. The situation where this could happen seems quite limited, and the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. However, the fault puts the vehicle out of compliance with federal regulations covering theft protection and rollaways, and must be repaired.
The fix is easy: Ford will reprogram the instrument cluster at no cost to consumers. According to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker in an email to Autoblog, "We will notify customers the week of January 5th." Scroll down to read Ford's announcement.

2015 Ford Mustang renders reveal look of the real thing

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

This is, according to the pony-car obsessed kids over at Mustang6G.com, the closest, most accurate rendering of the new, 2015 Ford Mustang to date. Artis Chazcron used a combination of Ford CAD images and information from assorted spy shots to assemble a fairly handsome car, albeit one that conforms to the tired cliché of being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
Now, it's very important to note that these are still speculative renders, and that they only represent the base car - that could explain the lack of the Mustang's vestigial side scoops, along with other, newer styling cues that Mustang6G seems to think will arrive on production models. Those items include a new, double-bubble roof, although the Mustang aficionados claim that even if it were present, it'd barely be visible from these angles.
The front end is pretty spot on, compared to what we've seen from earlier spy shots, while the tail, with its interesting light design is something new. The louvered taillights look quite different from the current version, obviously, though Mustang has gone the whimsical route with taillights before. Also, note the new rear diffuser uses an integrated reverse light and rear foglight, the latter of which is required for sale in Europe.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.
