THIS IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF AN ORIGINAL 1965 MUSTANG HARDTOP COUPE WITH SOME "NORMAL PATINA". IT HAS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT(SOMEWHAT FADED AND THIN),ORIGINAL V-8 ENGINE,ORIGINAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION,ORIGINAL VINYL TOP,ORIGINAL INTERIOR,ORIGINAL TYPE SPARE TIRE AND JACK,ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL AND MANY OTHER ORIGINAL COMPONETS. THIS MUSTANG ORIGINALLY WAS PRODUCED WITHOUT A RADIO AND POWER STEERING. I DID INSTALL POWER STEERING WITH "PERIOD CORRECT" FORD COMPONETS (WHICH CAN BE REMOVED WITH NO SCARS IF DESIRED) AND AN AFTERMARKET CASSETTE RADIO WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS OR BUTCHERY TO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE INCLUDED THE ORIGINAL "DELETE" DASH PLATE WITH THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT DRILL A HOLE FOR AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA. THERE ARE SOME "MINOR PATINA DENTS" WHICH SUPPOSEDLY OCCURED DRIVING IN AND OUT OF THE GARAGE WHICH CAN BE VERY EASILY REPAIRED IF YOU DESIRE TO REMOVE PATINA WHICH HAS OCCURED THROUGH THE YEARS BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND NOT RETAIN ITS ORIGINALITY. THERE ALSO IS "0" RUST IN THE BODY OF THIS VEHICLE.  THIS IS TRULY AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF AN ORIGINAL 1965 MUSTANG. THIS 1965 MUSTANG WAS PRODUCED IN OCTOBER OF 1964 ACCORDING TO THE DATA PLATE AND WAS SOLD NEW IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA AT BILL HEATH FORD INC ON 10/27/1964. THE AIR CONDITIONING WORKS VERY WELL AND COOLS DOWN TO AROUND 40 DEGREES. IT PRESENTLY HAS (AS SHOWN ON THE ODOMETER) 54753 MILES AND IS THOUGHT TO CORRECT BUT NOT VERIFIED. AS MENTIONED ABOVE, THE PAINT IS ORIGINAL, BUT IS SOMEWHAT FADED AND THIN WITH SOME SCRATCHES, NICKS AND IS SOMEWHAT NORMAL FOR THE IT'S AGE BUT POLISHES UP NICELY. THE UNDERNEATH OF THIS MUSTANG IS VERY SOLID, IS NOT BANGED UP AND DOES NOT SHOW ANY RUST THAT I HAVE FOUND AND ONLY SHOWS NORMAL WEAR. 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
