Barn Fresh Unrestored Complete Original Touring Convertible Survivor 23 24 26 27 on 2040-cars
Middletown, Ohio, United States
Up for sale is this incredible 1925 Ford Model T Touring convertible. It has been stored in a climate controlled building for over 47 years! It was parked in the back corner of a pole barn. It had a nice Model A Woody parked next to it. Not a bad room-mate! It is completely original and has never had any sort of restoration. This car has only had 2 owners until I purchased it a few weeks ago. The gentleman I bought it from is a retired Ford employee who has owned and cared for numerous show winning Fords. He was also a Model B mechanic for the US Military and served in the Korean War. His passion for early Fords is very visible with this Model T. Him and his wife drove and showed this vehicle in the early 60s throughout southern Ohio. It got parked in the fall of 1967 and was never pulled out of his garage again until the end of August, 2014. I have made no attempt to start or drive this car. I haven't even washed it. It is in true "barn find" condition! There is evidence that some sort of tune-up or mechanical work had been started and not finished. There are some un-hooked wires and lose bolts under the hood. The cooling fan and belt were also removed and the lower radiator hose disconnected. I asked the previous owner if he could remember why it was parked or what was being done to it and he could not recall (He's 84 and has 12 vehicles to keep tabs on...) The interior of the car is amazing. I could not find one tear or blemish on either seat. The floors and door panels are also very nice with little wear. I was told the top is original and has no tears that I could find. It folded down and back up with ease. Stashed in the back seat was the boot and straps for the top, and a full set of side curtains that are in equally amazing condition considering their age. All doors open and shut like they are new. No sagging, etc. All the pedals, and column levers move freely with no binding. Steering works as it should. The original Ford script key and leather key pouch are still in the ignition that turns/operates as it should. The windshield and side/rear mirrors are all in excellent shape with no visible cracks. I believe the windshield is just dirty, not permanently hazy. ( I used my finger to draw a "T" on the drivers side lower portion and it came right off.) All the tires hold air. The original hand crank, and crank strap are still present along with the rear spare wheel/tire. Both cowl lanterns are in excellent shape. The wicks still adjust as they should. The suspension looks complete and functional but obviously no road testing has been done to verify that. The body is very solid. The only evidence of any sort of rust is on the drivers rear lower corner (see pic) The paint is original and has scratches and dings here and there but is very presentable for an unrestored car of this age. There are no hood latches on the car currently but there was a parts bag from early Ford laying on the floor that has a nice original set of latches that will come with the car. There are other misc parts included. There is even the original jack assembly and Ford script tool set. Please refer to pictures for parts, accessories included. I've been building and restoring classic cars for quite some time and I have never seen a survivor/barn car in this condition. I honestly feel that with a good bath, a mechanical tune-up and some TLC this would make an absolutely amazing ORIGINAL early Ford. These unrestored original cars are getting harder and harder to find, let alone in this condition. I've been as honest and straight forward as I can be with this car. If you have any questions at all or would like more detailed pictures of anything, please do not hesitate to ask. I have a clear Ohio title in my name. The car is located in Liberty Township, Ohio, approx. 25 miles north of Cincinnati, Ohio. I will deal with overseas buyers. Buyer is responsible for any/all shipping and transportation of the vehicle. I am available to help your carrier or you load. The car WILL NOT leave my barn until all payments have been made or cleared at the bank. Zero feedback bids will be cancelled. A $500 deposit is due within 48hrs of the auction ending. Please note that I will be out of town 9-10-14 thru 9-14-14 and again on 9-23-14 thru 10-2-14. I would really like car picked up between 9-14-14 thru 9-23-14 if possible. |

Holy crime-fighting Ford F-150, Batman!
Thu, 18 Jul 2013What would Batman drive for his weekly trips to Home Depot for the bits and pieces needed to keep his lair deep below Wayne Manor in tip-top condition? Certainly not the Batmobile - there's no way a 4x8 sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, not to mention the fact that jet turbine engines have an unfortunate tendency to set trailers on fire when towing...
No, what Batman needs is a pickup truck. The boys from Ford teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports to build just such a machine, and it has just debuted at Comic Con. Designed by Jared Barris, grandson of the legendary kustomizer George Barris, the 2012 F-150 pickup you see here, dubbed Crime Fighter, is painted Tuxedo Black with Ferrari Red highlights and is affixed with fins on each side of the truck bed. It's nothing if not unique.
Well, it's at least unique for now. According to Ford, Galpin in Southern California is willing to take orders for customers looking to don a cape and hit the town for a night of crime-fighting action. Or trips to Home Depot. Check out our high-res image gallery and then scroll down for the official description from Ford. We're waiting for details such as pricing and build time from Ford, and we'll update this post if and when we hear back.
24 Hours of Le Mans live update part three
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and has an associates degree in dropping f-bombs. For Part One, click here. Part Two is here. Really hoped I'd be able to grab an hour or two of sleep before the sun rose over Le Mans. Dark dark dark, couldn't figure out what was going on. Commentators struggled at times as well. But I couldn't do it. Endurance racing is just too exciting. Grabs my attention with both fists. Screams, "watch these men DRIVE!" A neighbor invited me over for drinks. Told him, "Can't do it, gotta watch Le Mans!" Maybe not exactly. I'll admit, at times my attention wandered. I did a load of laundry. Ate some snacks. Half listened to the commentary. Threw a hump at my wife. I learned that Patrick Long, driving #88, is big brother to Kevin "Spanky" Long. Spanky's a bit of a legend in the skate world. Always weird how top notch talent can run in families like that. Kind of surprised I've never heard that before. Worked for a skate mag for a years, met Spanky a handful of times. Someone must've told me that he has an older brother who drives race cars. Dash cams at night are scary. High powered headlights in the P1s reach almost 300 meters. Cars outrun that distance easy. Seems like they're just steering into the black and hoping for the best. But that can't be the case. People'd be dropping dead let and right. Very amused by how the guys in GT are like, "Dude, stop flashing your fucking lights before you pass." But the LMP's are all, "Suck a dick! I do what I want." Top three stayed neck and neck nearly all night long. As the sun gets ready to creep back over the horizon the top three are separated by only eleven and a half seconds. Toyota 5 and 6, Porsche 2. Audi 8 is two laps behind Porsche, beleaguered 7 is dealing with constant trouble eleven laps from the front. GTE Pro sees Ferrari 82 in first, Ford 68 and 69 right behind. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect. Fours cars retired so far. I'm beginning to appreciate the endurance aspect a little more fully. Only really considered the drivers at first. The mental and physical stress driving these cars at these speeds at length would inflict. But keeping the damn things running is the real deal. To win you've gotta drive perfect, build perfect.
Ford GT concept adorns Forza 6 cover
Tue, Jan 13 2015Ford has rolled in to the Detroit Auto Show this week with a staggering array of performance machinery, including the new GT Concept, Mustang GT350R and F-150 Raptor. That's the exciting part. The thing is, that most of us won't have the opportunity to drive any of them, let alone really wring them out on the track. Fortunately, they'll all feature in the upcoming release of Forza 6. Not only that, but the new Ford GT will adorn the box cover as well. Featuring on the cover of the latest installment of what Microsoft (citing Metacritic ratings) says is "the highest-rated racing series of the past decade" would be a coveted place of honor for any automaker. The box art for the original version (at least the one first released in North America) featured a modified Acura NSX, followed by a Nissan 350Z drifter on Forza Motorsport 2, an Audi R8 on Forza 3, Ferrari 458 Italia on Forza 4, an SRT Viper on Forza Horizon, the McLaren P1 on Forza 5 and the Lamborghini Huracan on Forza Horizon 2. This, then, will be the first time a Ford will be the poster child for a new version of the popular game. With carbon-fiber construction, active aero and a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 pumping out over 600 horsepower, it strikes us as a place well deserved by Dearborn's finest. Microsoft and Ford Unveil Ford GT as the Cover Car for "Forza Motorsport 6" Debuting Exclusively on Xbox One Ford's new line of performance vehicles will star in Microsoft's newest and most advanced racing game DETROIT – Jan. 12, 2015 – Microsoft, Turn 10 Studios and Ford unveiled their new collaboration today at the North American International Auto Show, announcing the all-new Ford GT ultra-high performance supercar as the featured cover car in the next iteration of the acclaimed racing simulation franchise for Xbox, "Forza Motorsport 6," launching exclusively on Xbox One. The GT serves as a technology showcase for Ford with its ultra-efficient EcoBoost engine performance, advanced aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber construction. It begins arriving in dealerships in select markets globally late next year. In addition, the companies revealed that Ford's performance vehicle line-up will appear in "Forza Motorsport 6." This includes the GT, Shelby® GT350 Mustang and F-150 Raptor debuted by Ford earlier today at the auto show.
