1930 FORD MODEL A ROADSTER:   All original stock, steel, straight body & frame in very good restorable condition.  Clean title for Sale by Owner.  NO dents, NO damage.  Small exterior spot of rust (See Photo) on bottom of outer passenger-side door, otherwise, no other rust that I can see.  This roadster has the original stock motor and 3 speed manual transmission.  The tires & spoked rims are in good condition though it does not have the 5th (spare) 15" wheel.  It has all new wiring, headlights, amp & fuel gauges, new working alternator, which has been swapped to 12V, and battery.  Wishbones & rear frame are all good and there are NO weldings. It has recently been completely lubed and is in good working & running condition.  Paint & interior are original.  Interior is pretty much shot, although the floor board has been replaced, and only really needs paint & interior.  Assembly for convertable top may not be correct for this car.  It is currently not connected to the front window frame, which is normally put down to better accomodate the car cover, and is how it came when we bought it from the previous owner.

SOME HISTORY ON THE CAR:  My dad bought it from a private party in El Monte, CA in 1998 and was intended as a project car for restoration.  Because he's had others to work on, it had been in storage at his shop in El Monte until about 2 years ago when it was taken along with some other cars to Mississippi, where my parents are moving to, and was stored in their warehouse. Since they could really use the money for their move & health conditions forces sale ASAP, he brought it back to CA. sometime last year when he decided to put it up for sale and it's been covered up in our driveway, while some work (which is noted in the listing) was done on it to get it up and running to sell.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS:  We will accept International Buyers and have shipped other cars Worldwide.  Buyer is responsible for making shipping arrangements and payment.  Will deliver up to 200-250 miles. from the Los Angeles/Glendale CA area for Local Buyers and will transport to the nearest shipping facility, which I believe is in Wilmington, CA, for International Buyers.  For more info or to discuss transportation/delivery/pick up options, please use the eBay Ask Seller a Question option or contact HOLLEY at HOME 818-247-0340 or 818-549-1133 or CELL 818-216-7988.  This great project Roadster just needs some cleaning up, paint & interior and is really in very good working & running condition.

NOTE:  I do have some more photos available but, because I'm already at my limit of 24 in the listing, I can't add any more.  If you would like to send me your email address I'd be happy to email them to you.  Please let me know. Thanks very much for your interest.  ; D

Updated Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator caught in new spy photos

Mon, Oct 26 2020

Face-lifted Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator prototypes were spotted in the wild Monday wearing fairly extensive camouflage disguising updated bodywork for the 2022 model year. Ford's two body-on-frame offerings (BOFferings? Nope. Pretend that didn't happen.) are both due for a nip and tuck, and with GM's fresh slate of full-sizers now available, the timing couldn't be more perfect.  There's not much we can discern from this Navigator prototype. The camo does a good job of masking whatever Lincoln has in store for the nose, but the tailgate has some discernible updates, including a significantly more pronounced recess for the license plate that also appears to be mounted higher on the hatch. This would likely indicate that the rear lighting scheme is getting an overhaul, as there doesn't appear to be enough room between the lower edge of the glass and the plate for the current scheme to be preserved.  The Expedition, on the other hand, has quite a bit going on. For starters, this prototype is not sporting the chrome-and-polish look we've come to associate with these often-blingy SUVs. Instead, we see a set of Goodyear Wrangler all-terrains on what appear to be 18" wheels, which are positively dwarfed by the turbine-style wheels on the Lincolns. Leaning even harder into the off-road theme, this prototype is not wearing the scalloped front air dam seen on other Expeditions. While it may have been removed for testing purposes, its absence (or replacement) would certainly do wonders for the big SUV's approach angle. Elsewhere, we can see what appear to be a new set of tail lights, and it would be safe to assume based on the camo that we'll see new front and rear bumper treatments.  We can also see a bit of the Expedition's interior, and there are quite a few things to note on this front. For starters, the prominent, vertically oriented infotainment screen takes after the Mustang Mach-E's unit. This is significant not only on spec, but also because it signals that the Expedition's interior will be departing more significantly from that of the F-150.  Related Video:

Ford worker files for UAW dues refund, stirs right-to-work debate

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Let's start with some history: Ford's Dearborn truck plant, part of the company's massive River Rouge complex, was the center of a strike in 1941 that led to Ford signing the first "closed shop" agreement in the industry. The agreement obliged every worker at the plant to be a dues-paying member of the United Auto Workers. In December 2012, however, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation making Michigan a right-to-work state, which outlawed closed shops. The new law gave workers the right to opt out of union membership and stop paying dues even if they were still covered by union activities like collective bargaining. For employees at the Dearborn plant, the right-to-work clauses take effect at the end of their current contract in 2015.
As a tool-and-die maker at Ford's Dearborn plant for 16 years, Todd Lemire pays dues to the UAW - about two hours' salary per month. However, he's been unhappy with the UAW's support of the Democratic party, and not wanting to wait until next year to be out of the UAW entirely he invoked his Beck Rights, which state that a non-member of a union does not have to pay dues to support non-core activities, such as political spending. But Lemire wasn't happy that Ford still subtracted the total amount of dues, with the UAW reimbursing the difference, so he filed suit with the National Labor Relations Board, feeling that the workaround violates his rights.
Lemire's case is just a week old, so it could be a while before a resolution. Yet, as September 15, 2015 draws near and the right-to-work laws take full effect for Michigan workers - and others wonder whether it could help revitalize the state's manufacturing base - a case like this adds more fuel to the discussion.

Ford recalling 370,000 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Town Car models

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

The Detroit News is reporting that Ford will recall some 370,000 Crown Victoria (pictured), Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011, for an issue regarding the lower intermediate steering shaft. 355,000 of the vehicles in question were sold in the US, with the other 15,000 sold in Canada.
The report indicates that corrosion of the lower intermediate steering shaft could cause a "loss of steering," presumably because of a partial or complete failure of the part. The report points out the dealers will inspect and replace the offending steering component for recalled cars, and may also secure a lower steering column bearing and replace the upper intermediate steering shaft as needed. The company is unaware of any reports of the faulty part causing any accidents or injuries.
Ford helpfully lists states in which corrosion is more likely to have taken place, mostly in the Snow Belt, as you might guess. Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are listed.
