I am selling this 1930 Model A Tudor that I purchased from the heirs of a fellow who had died. I'm inclined to call it "barn fresh" but cannot as some restoration has been done on it. It has very nice sheet metal which makes it a good potential for restoration. You may not have to buy any sheet metal for it, but that is your decision. I, personally, would buy only new running boards/splash aprons for it. I would use all the rest of it - including the extra front passenger fender that I am including with it.
Following are my visual observations of it:
---Hood - nice, but two very small dents on one side which can be filled with body filler. The louvers are nice.
---Fenders - there are none of the "normal" breaks found on most original fenders, that normally require a weld. The drivers front fender, and both rear fenders are solid with some small denting. The passenger side front fender is pretty bad
so I will send another, much nicer fender with the car.
---Cowl - on the drivers side there is some rust out, which you can buy a patch for, or do what I have done, which is cover it with fiberglass (6 years ago-still nice and not noticeable) (see picture). Also 2 holes drilled - antenna??? Passenger
side is good.
---Doors - drivers side is good, no rust thru or holes on bottom. Passenger side has some rust thru on lower outside, but not on door bottom. Can buy patch for it or fix with fiberglass.
---Body - behind doors (both sides) and around the back - looks fine.
---Body frame - this part of a car, if it is rusted out, is difficult to fix. On this car, except for one place (the short 45 degree piece by the clutch pedal), this body frame is strong and looks fine. You can replace this one piece if you wish, but I
don't feel it is necessary as body frame is strong and this piece is covered by the floor mat.
---Gas tank - looks fine.
---Windshield frame - what I can see and feel look fine.
---Glass -- back window and 3 side windows look fine, one side window has a crack in it.
---Windshield - there is some separation between the pieces so it should be replaced, especially with safety glass so one doesn't severely hurt themselves in an accident.
---Roof -- a limb fell on it and dented it..
---Interior wood - Looks like it may have been replaced because it appears solid,, except for the piece over the windshield which perhaps should be replaced. The roof bows and chicken wire in the roof all look good as if they have been
replaced.
---Dash = is complete but rusted. The speedo reads 10,100 miles - original ????
---Floor boards - basically useable and solid, except for the piece in the back seat foot rest, which has a few soft spots which may or may not need replacing.
---Radiator - looks good, in fact it is an ORIGINAL which is unusual to find one still in use - maybe the mileage is correct???
---Radiator shield - very nice.
---Lights - nice buckets but seal beams. All original internal parts are available from vendors (repro parts which are fine). One tail light is present.
---Tires - four (4) NEW tires on the car.
---Horn - one present but not original Model A type.
---Wiper - original vacuum type Model A style.
---Steering wheel - not bad, is restorable.
---Interior moldings --side windows and back window are present.
---Handles - missing one door handle.
---Firewall - decent with couple of extra drilled holes, and larger hole for heater manifold plus one extra approx. 2" hole
---Motor - stuck but complete with generator, starter, water pump, coil, carburetor.. No restoration here that I can see.
---Chassis - complete with differential, tranny, clutch housing, and frame. But no visible restoration done on it.
---Title -none, heirs were unable to locate it.\
---Running Boards - solid, no rust thru, but horizontal parts (that you step on) are welded on plates. This will require
you do drill holes in them for bolts to fasten them to frame braces/ You can still cover these with normal rubber covers
but there would be small bumps in the rubber where the bold heads are.
---Seats - front seat frames present and look okay, rear seat wooden frames also present and look fine. Some springs are present, but I wouldn't use them.
This car is the basis for a nice restoration because the sheet metal is in such good condition. The mechanical parts are such that
a "Sunday mechanic" can do much of his own work, especially with the number of restore/repair manuals available.
THERE IS NO TITLE TO THIS CAR. THE HEIRS OF THE OWNER COULD NOT LOCATE IT. I HAD TO FILL IN THE TITLE BLANK IN ORDER TO LIST IT. IN MY PERSONAL PAST, I HAVE HAD A TITLE CREATED FOR A CAR I HAD PURCHASED, SO I KNOW IT CAN BE READILY DONE. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS FACT DETRACT FROM YOUR PURCHASE OF THIS CAR, BECAUSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE A TITLE CREATED. I wanted to put "No title" in the title spot, but it wasn't allowed.

Mustang Cobra Jet prototype garners $200k for charity at Barrett-Jackson
Wed, 02 Oct 2013A few weeks ago we brought you news of a one-off Mustang Cobra Jet that Ford was donating to charity. The car was set to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Now that auction has taken place, bringing in an impressive $200,000 for MS research.
That's a lot of zeros for a Mustang, much less one you can't even drive on the street. But the unique pony car, bearing serial number 2014 BJMS CJXX1, packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, competition gearbox, wheelie bar, roll cage... all you could want, in short, in a turn-key drag racer. And all that for a good cause.
2015 Ford Mustang Convertible shown on Twitter [UPDATE w/video]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013It hasn't yet been 12 hours since the hotly anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang has been let out into public view. After a series of evocative leaks over the course of the last days, we brought you a full deep dive of the sixth-generation pony car at the dawning of today. And yet, here we are rushing to bring you news of a new Mustang variant, already.
Be it part of a plan to keep the Mustang fervor at full boil, or a misunderstood email somewhere in the chain of command, Ford UK has unceremoniously tweeted a picture of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible. For a newly global Mustang, getting our first look at the droptop from the convertible-crazy British does make some amount of sense.
As for details, well, you're looking at them. Brandon Turkus reported yesterday that the Mustang 'vert would make use of a fully electric convertible mechanism, and that it would be of fabric construction rather than some kind of retractable hardtop. We see here that the fabric part is clearly true, and it does look as though Ford may still be employing the same kind of manually attached tonneau cover that exists right now. Of course, our view from this angle isn't great, and the particulars are still up in the air.
Ford 1.0L EcoBoost 3-Cylinder: Autoblog Technology of the Year award finalist
Wed, 19 Nov 2014As the old saying goes, "There's no replacement for displacement." But these days, many automakers are launching powerful, downsized engines that offer similar or better power output than their predecessors, all while offering improvements in fuel economy and emissions. These days, we're seeing automakers replacing eight-cylinder engines with turbocharged sixes, and the naturally aspirated six-cylinder motors are being phased out in favor of potent turbo fours. But Ford has gone even smaller, offering a three-cylinder, turbocharged engine with one single liter of displacement.
Sure, three-cylinder engines aren't anything new - they've been offered around the globe for ages. But Ford's EcoBoost 1.0L powerplant is perhaps the best application the Autoblog team has tested. Gone are the triple-cylinder complaints of yore - this engine doesn't sound anemic or buzzy, and there's healthy power output on tap. In fact, compared to the 1.6-liter inline-four that Ford also offers in the Fiesta, the 1.0-liter is more powerful, while boasting an impressive 45 miles per gallon on the highway.
This engine has already received numerous accolades, including winning the International Engine of the Year award in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The 1.0L EcoBoost will be available in the refreshed 2015 Ford Focus here in the US.
