1930 Ford Model A Town Sedan (numbered Briggs Body) on 2040-cars
Chagrin Falls, Ohio, United States
Video of the car here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUwEgn9nKZo 65 Photos of the car here: http://s102.photobucket.com/user/BP_Silly/library/Model%20A?sort=2&page=1 Up for your consideration is my late grandfather’s 1930 Ford Model A Town Sedan, which has been in our family since 1958. Grandpa was the car’s second owner. According to his notes it was last driven in 2003 and has been garaged its entire life. The mileage of 83,262 is the ACTUAL MILAGE from 1930 to present day. Below the write up I will include a transcript of my grandfather’s log of trips since 1989. This A is the VERY definition of a driver, and grandpa was proud he drove it to 10 states and Canada. The body is a Briggs body (as opposed to a Murray body.) The frame number is stamped on the driver’s side just below the front door. Does not run but turns over. This car was a driver and has wear & tear one would associate with a driver i.e. chipped paint. Mice did make a home in it during its last decade in storage, but it’s cleaned out now. All that said it’s a solid car. Please look at the pictures and video carefully and ask questions. The original upholstery was mohair but my grandmother was allergic to it and it was recovered in 1966. One extra role of upholstery is included. The car’s color is “Booster Green.” The title is clear. The A comes with a cloth custom cover and many extras pieces parts. Including original sunshades and luggage holder. Look at pictures carefully for the miscellaneous pieces parts. The car won dozens of trophies over the years, included in the sale are 5. The quail hood ornament and the original box for the rearview mirror are also included but not pictured. The old pictures date from 1959-1997 (one is dated ’87 however it’s really 1997, grandpa could never set the date & time on the camera.) I’ll be happy to include digital copies of them in the sale of the car. According to various family members the car was last started about 4 years ago. I don’t have the knowledge & know how and am not even going to try hence the car is being sold “as is.” The car is stored at my godfather’s in Strongsville and if you’re in the Cleveland area a viewing can be arranged. The car will need to be picked up from zip code 44136 within 2 weeks of sale. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO MY COUSIN’S VIDEO OF THE CAR, HIS DESCRIPTION WILL BE THE MOST DETAILED.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUwEgn9nKZo As I know it, here’s the car’s history, some may be relevant, some may not, nonetheless here’s its story: In 1958 the A was purchased from a widow in Grafton, Ohio for $200. Her husband bought it new, drove it for a few years then upon joining the military, put it into storage and up on blocks. Ultimately he was one of the millions who were claimed by WW2. It wasn’t until 1957 that his widow learned to drive. That year she had Sears come out and put in a new battery and replace the tires. After driving it around for a few months, she came to the realization it was not for her because she didn’t like, “sitting up higher then everyone else.” Then my Aunt Laura ran into the woman at Sparkle Market in Grafton and told her she was going to sell the A and get something more modern. Aunt Laura said her nephew (my grandpa) might be interested and rushed home to call him. (Apparently not finishing her shopping.) Grandpa came out that weekend and bought it. During the summer of 1958 grandpa and his brother Don restored it. The car’s nickname was “Marilyn.” As with all gentlemen of that era Marilyn Monroe was THE hot topic. Grandpa though, actually saw Marilyn twice in person, once shopping in a Los Angeles supermarket wearing a tight sweater with an “M” pin and secondly, in Korea when she entertained with the USO. It was humorous asking him to describe her and all he would say was, “WOW, ya know, WOW.” Sadly when Grandpa married his second wife she found Marilyn Monroe to be, in her words, “utter pornography” and banned anything and everything related to “that woman.” However, to us, the A will always be Marilyn. 2015 Ford Edge First Drive [w/videos]
Thu, Mar 12 2015We're routinely told that it's not easy being the middle child. The oldest sibling will always outshine the rest, while the youngest is routinely doted upon. The middle child, meanwhile, is seemingly never able to measure up. You know the drill: Marcia, Marcia, Marcia! But that hasn't really been the case for Ford's mid-kid crossover, the Edge. Sandwiched between its highly successful big brother, the Explorer, and the stylish younger brother, the Escape, the Edge has had plenty of its own bragging rights over the years. It's where the Blue Oval chose to first launch MyFord Touch in 2011, and was one of the company's first applications of an EcoBoost engine in a CUV. For 2015, Ford has given the Edge a brand-new outfit, complete with stand-out sheetmetal and a revamped 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine fitted with a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct-injection. The result is a vehicle that truly stands out from its compact and fullsize siblings while promising to retain Ford's edge in the midsize CUV market. Where many of Ford's cars have opted for a slim, Aston Martin-like grille, the new Edge's face is big and bold. It's around back, however, where the Edge really comes up with its own personality. The slimmer D-pillar forms the edges of a more aggressively raked rear window. It's difficult to spot in pictures, but the result is a decidedly more assertive profile than the outgoing CUV. Beyond that, the rear is home to Fusion-inspired taillights, although unlike Ford's popular midsize sedan, they're joined together by a vehicle-spanning lighting element that prominently features a Ford badge at its center. Ford's work on the Edge's interior is less progressive, though. The owner of a 2014 model wouldn't feel the least bit out of place climbing behind the wheel of a 2015, as it features Ford's same reconfigurable instrument cluster, and a center stack that's been crowned by the latest (and final) edition of MyFord Touch. Meanwhile, more JD Power Initial Quality Study-friendly buttons have replaced the obstinate and unintuitive touch-capacitive controls. The conservative take on the interior design belies the big improvements in material quality. The leather inserts in the doors are more heavily padded and the plastics are far softer. It's a similar story throughout the cabin, where owners will notice softer dash plastics and generally richer materials.

Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.
