1929 Ford Model A Leatherback coupe.  This car just OOZES originality and barn find! It has been stored inside since the late 60's.  The original title reads 1967, and the license plate is a 1962.  The odometer shows 46869 and the vin. is A1092223.  The car is very complete with some extra parts (wheels, lights, spark plugs etc..) I have never started the engine but it turns, and has compression.  The fuel tank smells clean (probably drained back in the day).  Otherwise the engine compartment is all intact and complete.  The interior is basically original, complete, but well used!  The body is very solid with some dents and dings but no MAJOR rust with the exception of a small area at the bottom of the cowl. All the glass is present with the exception of the driver's window, which is missing. If you look at the photos you will notice some things that probably were pre RAT ROD.  Piece of wood repairing a cracked rear quarter window,  replacement sealed beam head lamps, roofing tar sealing the old leatherback top, trailer hitch, nails grounding the right hand  accessory taillight, and a handy extra handle to lift the rear deck lid.  Sorry this old coupe doesn't have a rumble seat instead it has a trunk!  The wood framing in the roof area does need some replacement but is all there.  All in all this is a VERY SOLID and COMPLETE, BARN FIND Model A.  Please Email with any questions.  THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Ford recalling 850,000 cars and SUVs for airbag issues

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

Ford has announced a major recall of 850,000 vehicles from model years 2013 and 2014 due to a problem with the "restraints control module."
According to Ford, a short circuit could develop in the module, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate. In more severe cases, dependent on where the short develops, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not work in the event of an accident. The problems can be more wide-ranging than that, too, as systems that rely on information from the control module, such as the stability control can be affected.
With 850,000 vehicles affected, it's no surprise that some of Ford's volume leaders are covered. That includes the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans, as well as the incredibly recall-prone Escape and the C-Max MPV.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.

Ford C-Max, Fusion hybrids subject of MPG lawsuit in California

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

A California lawsuit over the fuel economy claims for the 2013 Ford C-Max was first reported back in December. Based on the numerous reports we've heard of disgruntled owners failing to get their car's EPA fuel economy ratings on the C-Max and 2013 Fusion Hybrid, we suspected there would be more to this story. The Detroit News is reporting that two California law firms are combining their lawsuits against Ford on this matter for "false and misleading" claims.
The article states that there are hundreds of C-Max and Fusion Hybrid owners who have joined the lawsuit, but the issue isn't limited to customers. In December, Consumer Reports extensively tested both the Fusion Hybrid and C-Max and found that both hybrids performed significantly worse than their EPA claims. This all comes just a few months after Hyundai and Kia took the unprecedented step of lowering the fuel economy ratings for all of their 2012 and 2013 model-year vehicles.
