1929 Ford Model A 4 Door Town Sedan on 2040-cars
Worth, Missouri, United States
1929 Model A 4 Door Town Sedan. While looking for a hot rod project, I ran across this Model A in January of 2008. The car was in a "Barn" where it had been parked since the owners passing. I purchased the car from his 88 year old Widow. Since the car was so complete I didn't have the heart to do anything but restore it. A local Model A/T enthusiast helped me get it running. I had trouble with it overheating, I had the head checked, installed a new head gasket, installed a new water pump that looks original without the need to adjust packing, still having problems, I ordered a new replacement radiator from "Snyder's"... PROBLEM SOLVED! I then proceeded to "Juice" the brakes where I ran all over the country side to swap meets finding the parts so I could maintain its original integrity. I have only made mechanical upgrades/improvements. With the exception of the wheels (which were orange) the interior and exterior is how I found the car. It is not a perfect show car, but is a fun show and parade car that I have driven (not hauled) as far as 150 miles to show or just to drive. I drove it approximately 80 miles on May 4th, 2014. It has a couple of mouse holes in the passenger front seat as shown. Paint has a few chips. It might puff a little smoke on a long hard uphill pull, All and all a pretty good old car. Young and old alike love to see and hear you drive by! Any Questions call 660-448-2708. $500.00 down payment. Buyer responsible for shipping. 85 Year Old Car AS IS. On May-13-14 at 06:21:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Please feel free to come inspect the car in person. On May-13-14 at 06:37:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Speedometer/odometer does not work. |

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]
Wed, 19 Jun 2013PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
Wrap up some fun with Ford's commercial vehicle configurator
Tue, 27 Aug 2013Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed - Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.
We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
