1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible. Car has the original 352 FE motor and original transmission. Car runs off of pouring a bit of gas in the carb. The fuel line is disconnected from the fuel pump because I didn't want old gas to go into the carb. All the glass is in good condition and goes up and down freely, except for the drivers side door glass which got broken, also the drivers side vent glass isn't there. Car is pretty much complete. Chrome is in decent condition. Missing one hubcap. Car has a bit of rust. The main areas is the trunk pan which needs attention and so does the trunk lid, but I do have a spare trunk lid which goes with the car. The convertible top motor works but it will need some hydraulic fluid in it. All the lights work. Has more parts that come with the car. Would make a great restomod/ pro touring. 1964 Ford GT40 prototype sells for $7M
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Seven-figure Ferraris are not horribly rare. Heck, an eight-figure Ferrari isn't a rare occurrence. Between modern masterpieces like the Enzo and more classic offerings, cracking the million-dollar mark isn't a particularly tall order for the cars from Maranello. For a Ford, though, it's a big deal.
Now, this is not just some rare Mustang. This is a GT40, the car that Henry Ford II commissioned to whip Enzo Ferrari around a track in France. As far as the Le Mans-winning racers go, they don't get much rarer than this one. Sold at the Mecum Auctions in Houston, this is one of the prototypes, meaning it's one of the very first GT40s ever built. That makes its $7 million winning a bid, a record for on-air coverage of the auction, a pretty darn impressive figure.

Oprah at it again, gives car away on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Sat, 17 Aug 2013Oprah Winfrey loves giving away cars. Not only has she given Pontiac G6 sedans and Volkswagen Beetle retro-mobiles to everyone in the audience of her past show, but the other night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! she gave another car away to one lucky audience member, while yelling her now-famous line: "You get a car!"
Although the acting of Oprah and Jimmy Kimmel was obviously staged for this giveaway, the reaction from the woman in the audience was genuine shock as she found out that she had just won a new Ford Fusion Energi. Congrats!
Not to take away from what Oprah and Jimmy pulled off, but our cynical sides have to wonder if there isn't more than just a little coincidence that this giveaway took place on the same day that Ford announced a fuel economy reduction for the C-Max hybrid.
