1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible on 2040-cars
Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, United States
65 Galaxie 500 convertible. I bought this car with intent to restore, but must sell for down payment on home. I do not have the title for this car, but it may be possible to hunt it down. I bought it from a guy who wanted it for body panels and parts and he bought it from a salvage yard. He says they had the title but he didn't need it. However when I tried to get it from the salvage yard they couldn't find it and must have misplaced or lost it. The floors will need repaired or replaced, but the rest of the body is almost rust free. The frame of the car is not in as good shape. Some guys told be it was repairable, but I would replace it. All doors open and close beautifully and all body lines and panel gaps line up and are even, so the frame isn't collapsing or anything. I found very nice original frames on here out of Washington state for $1200 shipped in US. Looks like passenger side door was hit lightly at some point and repaired. All other body panels look decently straight and without any major rust. The car is 99% complete. I believe the only parts missing are the original air cleaner and the clock on the dash. I was told the car was garage kept until it was vandalized, as you can see with the top, windshield and window glass. Then it was pushed outside until it was sent to salvage yard. This car is very restorable. Every things there. Runs and drives. 352 v8 with cruise-o-matic trans. Besides the bumpers all the chrome trim is in tact and mostly very straight and in good condition. The lower body molding on passenger side will need a little straightening. I do not have keys for it.

Ford idling Michigan Assembly Plant to trim Focus, C-Max supply
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Ford will be putting the brakes on production at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, MI, idling production during the weeks of October 28 and December 16. Ford is citing the first drop in US sales in 27 months, a 4.2-percent dip in September, as the impetus for trimming their supplies, according to Automotive News.
Ford's deft management of its supplies has been part of its success over the years, and seeing supplies of Focus and C-Max, the two vehicles built at MAP, rise from 58 and 108 days, respectively, to 71 and 122 days over the span of a month was apparently all that was need to justify the trimming. As AN points out, the rule of thumb for many automakers is to maintain a 60-day supply of vehicles.
"Ford has been focused on keeping their pricing in check. Their operating margin is in double digits. Nobody else is there and they're obviously very proud of that," Alan Baum, an auto analyst with Baum & Associates told AN. Keeping the supply chain operating smoothly and not increasing supplies too much is crucial to that healthy profit margin. After all, a large supply lowers prices ,which, in turn, cuts profit. So while this news might not be great for employees at MAP, who now have an extra two weeks of vacation time, it's far from a sign of problems in Dearborn. Quite the opposite, actually.
Aussie Ford Falcon GT shows its rear end to Lamborghini Gallardo
Sun, 27 Apr 2014When Ford Australia announces, as it did recently, that it wants to celebrate the end of its Ford Performance Vehicle division with a Falcon FPV GT-F that celebrates big-bore origins of the nameplate, it's talking about the kind of car in this video.
At some point the classic Falcon GT - said to be an XY series - was invited to a test of acceleration against a Lamborghini Gallardo. At the very least, the Falcon GT had a 351 cubic-inch motor and 300 horsepower, but whatever this guy's got under the hood of his yellow sedan makes has him so confident that he doesn't even move his elbow from its resting place on the door.
You'll find a reminder of Ford Australia's heyday, a raucous exhaust note and some NSFW language in the short video below.
Ford confirms launch of new Tourneo vans and Ecosport in Europe for Geneva
Sun, 24 Feb 2013We've already seen plenty of what the Geneva Motor Show will have in store for us in less than two weeks, but most of the confirmed debuts that were announced so far have generally been luxury or performance cars. Ford, on the other hand, will be showing off a couple of its new family-friendly models for European buyers to enjoy.
On the larger side of things, the full range of Tourneo vans (shown above) will be on display, including the introduction of the new Tourneo Courier model, but Ford will also be showing off the all-new EcoSport crossover, which is based on the automaker's Global B platform and will be positioned beneath the Kuga, better known here as the Escape. The subcompact EcoSport was originally unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last April.
