THIS AUCTION IS FOR A SOUTHERN 1964 FORD GALAXIE 500 4 DOOR VEHICLE.I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE TO RESTORE AND THEN REALIZED THAT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO GIVE IT THE TLC IT NEEDS. THIS VEHICLE HAS PRETTY MUCH ALL THE ORIGINAL PIECES OF TRIM WITH IT , INCLUDING THE FORD HUB CAPS. THE PARTS ON THIS 50 YEAR OLD VEHICLE ARE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. THE DOORS AND DOOR PANELS LOOK GREAT AS WELL.SOME SMALL RUST PARTS FROM SITTING. I TRIED TO GIVE YOU THE BEST SHOTS OF THE FRONT, BACK AND SIDES . NO MAJOR DENTS. THE TRUNK KEY IS MISSING AND I WILL GET A LOCKSMITH TO OPEN IT AND MAKE A KEY FOR IT FOR THE BUYER. THE PERSON I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IT FROM TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE DOES RUN AND IS NOT FROZEN. AL IN ALL IT'S VALUE IS SECURED WITH THE PARTS ALONE BECAUSE OF THEIR CONDITION. SO I AM SELLING IT AS A PARTS CAR AND "AS IS". I DO HAVE A LOUISIANA TITLE IN MY NAME FOR IT. THE ODEMETER ACTUALLY READS 10,158 MILES AND I EXPECT IT HAS TURNED OVER AND COULD BE 110, 581 MILES OR MORE.

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated
Mon, 02 Dec 2013Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
Ford UK exec says EVs are a good way to lose a fortune
Wed, Mar 19 2014Stateside, Ford execs are quick to point out the automaker's expansion in the plug-in sector. And despite a minimal presence in the pure EV space, the Blue Oval has been promoting its plug-in vehicles as part of an overall effort to boost fleetwide fuel economy. Too bad the company's UK chief didn't get the memo. There's "no point in us getting behind [EVs] and losing a fortune" - Ford's Mark Ovenden Mark Ovenden, speaking rather frankly at the Geneva Motor Show recently, said he didn't have real high hopes for substantial electric-vehicle adoption and said the company's money was better spent on smaller gas- and diesel-powered engines, the UK's Daily Mail says. Ovenden said of EV development that there was "no point in us getting behind it and losing a fortune," adding that his goal was to have variants of Ford's EcoBoost engine in 40 percent of the company's vehicles. Ford has about a 15-percent market share in the UK. The UK doesn't appear to be as kind to the EV as the US. Nissan last year cut the price of its all-electric Leaf there last year by about $4,000, while the company rolled out a promotion for the Leaf late last year, including allowing Leaf drivers to borrow a gas- or diesel-powered Nissan for free for as long as two weeks a year during the first three years of Leaf ownership. In the US, Ford sold just 229 Ford Focus Electrics during the first two months of the year after moving 1,738 units in 2013.
Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
