Hello, up for auction is my mother's triple black 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 fastback. The car was assembled in Oakland California, and resided in Salinas California till the early 1970's when it was brought over to Arizona where there it was drove around till the early 1980's then parked in a carport till the early 2000's when it had work done to it, then it was parked till about December of 2013, the car was listed on ebay in January of 2014 but did not hit our reserve so we did not sell the car, its up for auction one last time. The auction will include the original California title with the matching 1963 California Black plate, also the early 1970's Arizona license plate when it was transferred. Included also is the original owners manual and documentation records and original keys, plus over 17k of receipts for parts and labor. The car has a clear Arizona title in my mothers name and is open. Now on to the details of the car.

The car is equipped with a rebuilt 390 engine with a 3 speed cruise-o-matic , it has factory installed select air A/C ,factory installed power steering, factory installed power brakes, it has a lot of options such as push button Radio, under the dash courtesy lights and glove box light, under the trunk, and under the hood courtesy lights. Windshield washer bag with squirters , rotunda extra windshield washer glass bottle,1960's tachometer, Dealer installed Ford optional rear speaker "not shown in the pictures or youtube video but its installed and in working order" The car was ordered with seat belts and they have been replaced with new ones, Optional Ford crest floor mats, Ford halo style dual mirrors, original day and night mirror. The engine was completely rebuilt and everything was replaced with new or nos parts.  The transmission was gone thru  resealed and shifts perfectly. I had the column switched with a original Galaxie 4 speed column and, I added the complete 4 speed pedal assembly, and it has a hurst bench seat shifter, with a tach for the added touch, the car still is a cruise o matic but you could not tell the difference. I changed it just to give it the tougher look. I have the original column and shifter and pedals and I will include them in the auction if you want to change it back. The complete brake system is new, the original power brake booster was sent to Texas to be rebuilt professionally, new lines and hoses. new master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes all the way around, the drums have been lathed. All the wheel bearings have been replaced, New shocks all the way around, new front end bushings, new kingpins, new power steering ram "expensive replacement", new power steering hoses and rebuilt power steering pump. A new aluminum radiator was installed, but I have the original date coded one that will be included in the auction. Also the carb was replaced with a two barrel, but I have the original date coded 1963 Ford 4 barrel carb that will be included in the auction. I also replaced the generator with an alternator but I have the original date coded generator that will be included in the auction. A new gas tank with sending unit and stainless straps has been installed in the car.  The car has bias ply firestone pie crust tires with powder coated wheels and polished, restored dog dish poverty hubcaps. The interior has been completely restored in the original style. All the stainless trim was restored in the interior.  The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. The trunk compartment is in excellent condition  with a nos trunk mat and the original jack is intact with the original spare. There was a cd player installed with ipod connection, the pioneer system was installed in the glove box and is completely hidden, the pioneer speakers were completely hidden ,two small speakers were installed in the optional rear package tray speaker. All the chrome was replated on the car, and all the stainless was re polished and painted, tons of parts were powder coated on the car, and 95 percent of the whole car including engine compartment has all new grade 8 hardware. the undercarriage of this car is as nice as nice as the top half of the car, the belly of the car was painted in red oxide primer, the frame was painted as well as  most of all the other parts under the car. The car has no visible rust  and shows no signs of patch panel replacements. The floors and trunk are rock solid and have been coated with por15 before the new interior and nos trunk mats were installed. The car has a very few dings, and the paint is faded in areas were the sun hit it thru the windows of the garage,  but it wouldn't be hard to repaint this car gloss black and fix the very few dings it has for a full show car or you can leave it as is for a nice cruiser. This car does attract a lot of attention. The car was dented by a shopping car at a grocery store in the late 1970's and the passengers side front fender was replaced by a nos fender at the dealership and  the underside of the fender is red oxide with part numbers on it.  The car has a complete new exhaust system with "x" pipe and magnaflow exhaust, with 1960's nos exhaust tips. All new gaskets on the car such as trunk, doors, under the hood insulation, under the hood gaskets, new front and rear windshield gaskets, new window sweeps,a new windshield was installed. All the glass is tinted green as is clean. there' s tons of stuff to list, I'm sure im missing tons of stuff so please ask if you have questions or If I missed something.... there are no parts missing on this car. you could not build one cheaper for what im asking... Car does start and runs fine but will need some fine tuning to make it a road warrior.  Please do not bid on the car if you have no plans on paying for it.. I will report scammers.. I will help with any shipping issues, winner is responsible for shipping... I will need a $2000 deposit within 24 hours of auction ending. The remaining balance will be paid with another option. I have the car listed locally so I have the right to end the auction early. If you have any questions about the car please feel free to call me. 602 663-...8964  I am willing to negotiate on the price so feel free to give me a call, I can hold the car for a while if needed..

Ford Explorer gets appearance pack for 2015

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Remember when Ford launched the totally new Explorer in late 2010, and people were skeptical about how the now-crossover would fare, after ditching its traditional SUV roots? Well, we're several years in, and I think we can assuredly say that Ford made the right decision. Sales are better than ever (in fact, May was the current Explorer's best month yet), and the crossover is finding its way into the hands of a whole host of new Ford buyers.
A wholly refreshed Explorer is still forthcoming, but to keep its strong-selling crossover fresh, Ford is offering a host of improvements for the 2015 model year, including the attractive appearance package available on the XLT trim level, pictured above. Outside, the pack gets you goodies like 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, black bodyside cladding and roof rack rails. Contrasting Magnetic Metallic accents are found on the grille, mirror caps and liftgate appliqué, and there's an "Explorer" hood badge and body-colored door handles. Inside, there are new Miko suede inserts in the seats, and the package includes the automaker's Sync connectivity with MyFord Touch infotainment.
Elsewhere in the Explorer range, the Class III trailer tow pack is now standard on the Sport, base models get new 18-inch aluminum wheels, and there are three new colors on offer: Bronze Fire Metallic and Magnetic Metallic.

Mulally to stay at Ford through end of 2014 at least

Fri, 06 Dec 2013

Alan Mulally isn't going anywhere... at least not just yet. The CEO who helped turn around Ford Motor Company has been linked to the top job at tech behemoth Microsoft, leading to a flurry of rumors about potential successors. Those rumors, though, may have just been put to rest - at least for a little while.
Speaking to Edsel Ford II (great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford) at the unveiling of the new Mustang, Automotive News Europe confirmed that Mulally would stick around until the end of next year. "Alan is staying through the end of 2014 and that's all I know," said Ford. "Frankly, he has told us that his plan is to stay with Ford through the end of 2014."
Presuming that Edsel Ford is correct and that Microsoft isn't so hot on Mulally that it saves the position for him, it seems increasingly likely that the 68-year-old exec is more interested in continuing to work in Dearborn rather than in Redmond.

Ford reveals EcoBoost-powered Riley prototype for Daytona 24

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

It's not the first time Ford has participated in the Daytona Prototype class as an engine supplier, but in revealing this new EcoBoost V6-powered Riley Technologies prototype for the new United SportsCar Championship, Ford is making a statement: "We want to show Ford EcoBoost's capabilities as an engine that provides both performance and fuel economy, on and off the track," says Jamie Allison, director of Ford Racing.
In addition to supplying the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, Ford had its production designer Garen Nicoghosian give the racecar brand-inspired design cues with support from Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus.
The car is scheduled to compete at next year's Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25-26, but before that, Michael Shank Racing is working with Ford at another goal. Driving his Ford Thunderbird, NASCAR champion Bill Elliott set the track's top speed record at 210.364 miles per hour during a qualifying run for the Daytona 500 - way back in 1987 -- and Ford thinks it's about time for that record to fall. What better time the introduction of this new Ford-powered Daytona Prototype? Michael Shank Racing plans to use the twin-turbo V6-powered racer to beat Elliott's record, and it expects to begin prepping for the top-speed run on October 9. Scroll down for the full press release below on Ford's latest race effort.
