Clear Title, Current Registation Valid till 10/2013, VIN # 4H15U129505 matching (original engine/everything)

It's a real special piece, one of very few left with original paint and interior. Extensively restored recently and looks and drives amazing. 1 previous owner who kept it garaged in SoCal, a true "barn find".

I have all the paperwork/receipts for all the following; Rebuilt engine, new cream color (time appropriate) convertible top, new convertible top motor, new electrical wire harness, new weather stripping all around, classic california black plates, new gas and air filters. new Alpine stereo system with 6 cd changer hidden in the glove compartment, new heater core, new transmission, new light bulbs, new turn signal lights, new car alarm with kill switch, new tires, new shocks, new carpet, new battery, new starter, new front and end gaskets, new dipstick, new plaid trunk mat with spare tire cover. All parts are classic original and time appropriate.

I always pamper the Falcon with 89 grade gasoline regularly and 91 grade gasoline on longer trips.

Works like a dream, recently I drove it over to Joshua Tree, CA down to Tuscan, AZ and up to Vegas, NV then back to LA and had no problems, this car rides solid and is great on gas.

A true 60's convertible classic cruiser. All original and classically restored inside and out.

No rust, no dents, body is straight, all chrome and emblems are there. 2 sets of keys with alarm on it and one blank set. Title is clean and registration is valid. 53,200 original miles.

Hurts me to sell it but I need a down payment to buy a house and it's the most precious thing I have.

Please email me with any questions, additional pictures or to arrange a meeting.

Thanks

History of the 1964-1965 Ford Falcon

The reskinned 1964 Falcon was available with the underpowered 144 six, the adequate 170 six or a new-for-1964 bored-and-stroked 200 cubic-inch "small-block" six transplanted from the Fairlane line. A 260 V-8 also was available in any Falcon; putting out 164 horsepower in a car weighing in at 2,500 pounds meant some serious "giddyup." This car was the inspiration for the Mustang in April 1964, and it shared its bones with the original 1960 Falcon. The 1964 Falcon's look was new: boxier and classier, with sculpted body sides expanding toward Ford's trademark round taillights. The Falcon suddenly found itself out on racetracks and drag strips, instead of just grocery trips with mom and kids.

Ford acquires Livio to bolster connectivity biz

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Livio, a Ferndale, MI-based software development company best known for aftermarket in-car connectivity devices, but also as a supplier of technology for proprietary systems for automakers. Livio, co-founded by Sigal and Massimo Baldini, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Global Technologies.
"With the additional expertise Livio provides us, Ford intends to continue to lead the next generation of in-car connectivity with technology advancements that give consumers more options to access their devices on the go," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Research and Innovation, in a statement.
Ford is clearly trying to beef up its in-house tech capability around telematics and device connectivity. While the Blue Oval has been a leader in these areas with SYNC and MyFord Touch in terms of getting the systems into as many cars as possible, the execution of the applications have been criticized for glitches.

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

Sat, Jan 21 2023

Ford's now-defunct Mercury Division first began using the Marquis name in 1967, on a sporty full-size hardtop based on the Ford LTD, then began offering the Grand Marquis beginning in the 1979 model year. These big, boxy luxury sedans were replaced by big, curvy luxury sedans (on the same platform) starting with the 1992 model year, so today's Junkyard Gem is one of the very last squared-off Grand Marquises ever built. The 1991 Grand Marquis (or "Grandma Keith," as many refer to it today) looks nearly identical to its 1979 predecessor at a glance, just as the 2011 model doesn't differ much from the 1992 model. Ford saw no reason to follow short-lived fashion trends with its simple, sturdy rear-wheel-drive sedan. Only two Grand Marquis trim levels were available for 1991: the base GS and the (somewhat) upscale LS. The former listed at $18,741 and the latter at $19,241, which comes to about $41,494 and $42,601, respectively, in inflated 2022 dollars). This interior would have seemed comfortingly familiar to a 1968 (or even 1958) Mercury owner time-traveling to 1991.  This is the optional "full grain leather seating surface," which cost an extra $489 (about $1,083 today). Dig those opera lights! Air conditioning was standard equipment in the 1991 Grand Marquis and its wagon counterpart, the Colony Park. The engine is the good old pushrod 5.0-liter Windsor V8, which would be replaced by a far more modern 4.6-liter SOHC mill in the '92 Grand Marquis. This engine was rated at 180 horsepower. A four-speed automatic was the only transmission available. The early 1990s ended up being the last gasp for padded vinyl roofs being considered mainstream equipment on new Detroit cars; this one was called the "Formal Coach" roof and cost an additional 725 bucks ($1,605 now). Such roofs were still available on a few cars later in the decade, but their time had passed. Why would such a clean Grandma Keith end up in a place like this? That's easy: it got T-boned directly into the right front wheel, mangling the body and bending up the suspension. This damage might have been worth fixing when the car was five years old, but it's a write-off when it happens to a 31-year-old Ford Panther. 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis Commercial - Savings Ad The granddaddy of them all, and on sale in South Texas! Next Ford Raptor spotted wearing aluminum skin

Wed, 07 May 2014

Well, look at what we have here. Judging from these spy shots, Ford is indeed working on the next generation of its off-road-ready F-150 Raptor pickup truck. We've made no attempt to hide our appreciation for the Baja-style truck, which combines most of the usability of a fullsize truck with heavy-duty suspension components to make a kind of performance vehicle that is unique in the market.
What we haven't known, until now, is whether Ford would push forward with its Raptor program now that it has a completely new F-150 to serve as its base. And that's especially true since Ford made the bold move of switching the bodywork of its best-seller from tried-and-true steel to aluminum. As you can see above, the front and rear of this silver truck are clad in current-gen Raptor bodywork, while the center section that houses the occupants appears to come from the upcoming 2015 F-150.
Dissecting the views above, we note a few interesting tidbits. First, there looks to be a bulge in the truck's hood. Second, we see a new grille between the current Raptor's headlights, sporting a mesh finish and two horizontal bars. Lastly, our eyes can't help but lock in on those burly A-arm suspension pieces down below, not to mention all that ground clearance the specialty suspenders bring to the table.
