1962 Ford Falcon, 2 door, straight 6, 3 on the tree (manual Transmission with the shifter on the column, a true daily driver). This car is in really good shape for its age.
Reply to this posting with any questions or if you want to see it. The car is not restored and is not perfect however as far as 1962 falcons go this one is complete, rust free, super reliable, and fun to drive. See pictures as it does have a tear on the front seat, the shifter has a soft spring in second ( not a transmission issue it is in the column), and the car could use a paint job as it is a flat black and it looks like it was done in a garage not a paint booth, the rubber around the car is cracking (trunk, door seals, window felts, etc. not bushings or ball joints) however it is in very great mechanical shape for a 50+ year old car (runs and drives great) and is very complete. The car has not been cut up or modified and is rust free it has the original radio, there is an aftermarket cd/radio installed in the glove box. The Cars was manufactured in 1961 for the 1962 model year and was built in Los Angeles, CA. I think this car has spent it's whole life in southern California as it has no rust and the odometer reads 57xxx (not sure how accurate the odometer is though). The engine was rebuilt less than 20k miles ago and was converted from a generator to alternator. also has new tires (less than 5,000 miles ago), new battery, 80% left on brakes. This car drives straight and has no odd noises, shakes, or noises, it also gets about 24MPG. |

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with
Mon, 12 May 2014Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.
More 2015 Ford Mustang pricing information leaks [UPDATE]
Tue, 20 May 2014The big news this morning was that the 2015 Ford Mustang would start at $24,425, including its destination pricing. The big news this afternoon is, well, bigger.
Mustang6G.com has come up with what it claims is pricing info for the entire Mustang line, rather than just the V6. That means we know all about the EcoBoost and GT prices now, which, when combined with the dealer order sheets we reported on last week, gives us our clearest look yet at how the Mustang can be outfitted (we're still a bit short on pricing info for some standalone options, like paint premiums and such).
The base EcoBoost starts at $25,995, while the GT rings up at $32,925.
New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
