Up for auction is this rare survivor. It is a 1968 FORD FAIRLANE with 57,285 miles. The paint, engine, interior, roof liner, trunk interior..are all original.The interior is original white vinyl as is the white cloth roof liner. The liner needs a little attention but still looks good. The car does have a new green vinyl top in its original color. This car from the history i know, was purchased new in Chicago, Il.. The original owner used it for a short time before moving to Florida. It spent the last 40+ years in Florida mostly in storage after the owner passed away. I have tried to show via the pics as much to the actual car.The car has new tires, new dual exhaust, and new brakes. The car runs and drives great and needs nothing. Hubcaps are original as well. Inside the glove is a brand new Jensen radio/cassette player. The original am radio is still in its original place. Some minor rust can be seen but it is surface rust in most cases. The body and frame is remarkably clean and solid. As a survivor this car is ready to go. The engine and compartment are original and without rust as is the interior of the trunk. Paint is thin in some areas due to its age and i am sure waxing it. The worst rust is shown it the pic of the passenger right wheel well area. Ford vandalizes the SEMA Show floor with 2014 Transit Connect
Tue, 05 Nov 2013The Ford booth here at SEMA is practically a 1970s throwback with all these customized vans sitting front and center. And we're completely fine with that. Take the black and yellow (black and yellow, black and yellow) 2014 Transit Connect from Mobsteel above. It's got a great stance, sits on steel wheels and has a pretty cool paint job and graphics package to boot.

Long winter means most automakers won't curb summer shutdown
Sun, 18 May 2014A lot more happened during this latest brutal winter than days of snow and Netflix binges. Automotive sales took a battering. After all, going out car shopping when it's eleventy-billion degrees below zero isn't a good time.
Because of this Old Man Winter-induced sales slump, inventories are abnormally high as we head into the summer car buying season. That's led some analysts to predict that automakers will be more inclined to idle factories this summer, in a bid to trim some of the built-up inventory. Traditionally, American manufacturers offer up a two-week break in the middle of summer, although the burgeoning sales of the past few years have seen this practice become less popular.
"We're likely not going to see an acceleration this year," Jeff Schuster, a senior vice president at LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. "We'll see production increases in 'pockets' but I don't know if it will be as widespread as in recent years."
Roush getting back into sport compact business with Focus ST mods [w/video]
Wed, 29 May 2013Roush Performance offers a whole raft of parts for folks looking to tune their Ford Mustang and F-150 models, and now Focus owners can start getting in on the hotted-up action, too. Owners of the 2012-13 Focus and 2013 Focus ST can now get a Roush cold-air intake system, and ST owners can also opt for a high-performance cat-back exhaust.
Although all of these components are now available for order, the parts will ship sometime in July; no word yet on pricing. Down the road, Roush will also offer styling upgrades for the Focus as well as performance tuning upgrades such as engine controller, suspension, wheels and tires.
