Please email me with any questions or requests for additional pics or something specific at: delmerdhhuertas@cricketfans.net . This rare car is one of the few Skyliners produced with factory air conditioning in 1957. The Skyliner, also referred to as a Retractable or Hide-away Hardtop, was produced for only three years, 1957 through 1959. The 1957 is considered the most collectible. Production was started on April 14, 1957 and 20,766 were produced in the first year. This car was built on April 18, the 5th day of production, in the Louisville, Kentucky plant. The Skyliner emblems for the roof quarter trim were not available for the first few production cars and consequently this car was produced with out them making it very rare.
This is a frame off restoration of a rust free car showing 95,780 miles. It was refinished in the original Flame Red over Colonial White colors.
This Skyliner has the following Ford options: A 312 cid 245 HP 4 barrel carb Thunderbird Special V8, Automatic Transmission, Selectaire Air Conditioner (converted to R34), Master Guide Power Steering, Swift Sure Power Brakes, Power Lift Windows, 4-way Power Seat, Continental Kit, Twin Visored Spot Lights with Rear View Mirrors, Dual Exhaust (updated with stainless including Magnaflow stainless mufflers) with Delta Wing Tips, Electric Clock (converted to quartz), Signal Seek Town & Country Radio (converted to AM/FM), Windshield Washers, Back Up Lamps, Front Grill Guard, Front Bumper Wing Guards and Rocker Panel Trim.

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
Ford Transit customs ready to work for SEMA
Fri, 31 Oct 2014Ford's booth at the SEMA Show this year looks to have two, big themes. The Blue Oval is bringing over a dozen takes on the 2015 Mustang to the event, and it's now also announcing five customized versions on the 2015 Transit to join the modded pony cars. Each of the vans shows off a different use for the spacious commercial vehicle, from plush luxury to offroad ruggedness.
You probably don't think of the Transit as hitting the trails, but that's just what the take on the design from the Vegas Off-Road Experience (pictured above) is for. The company gives people the opportunity to drive a desert race truck, and this custom is meant to drive them to events. It should be able to take on the terrain a little better with off-road wheels and tires and fender flares, but inside passengers get serious luxury thanks to a 60-inch LED TV and video game systems.
Alternatively the blazing red Designed Travel Transit (right) is all about long road trips. The interior features four captain's chairs with heating, cooling and massage functions, and there's a 4K 50-inch TV to watch. For a touch of added class, the floor is made from hickory.
Ford predicts it will finish 2013 as top-selling US brand
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Ford is ready to call the ball on its 2013 sales totals, predicting a first-place finish for units sold in the US for a single brand. The company anticipates selling more than 2.4 million vehicles when all vehicle sales over the last 12 months have been tallied, repeating the victory it trumpeted over Toyota last year.
According to Ford's accounting, it sold 329,677 more vehicles than did Toyota in 2012. This year, the Blue Oval expects that margin to grow; through the end of November, Ford says it has outsold Toyota by 396,041 units.
Retail sales of Ford products are projected to exceed 1.7 million units for 2013 (the best retail result in 6 years for the company), with passenger cars accounting for 600k of that total. The redesigned Fusion is expected to crest the 290k mark, and the Fiesta is said to be ready to hit a model-record of 70k-plus. Meanwhile, utility vehicles and trucks are still paying a lot of bills in Dearborn, with the new Escape racking up an expected 300k sales and F-Series trucks chugging along at 688,810 units sold thru November.
