This truck was planned to be used for a project that I never had the time to finish.
Being sold just as you see in the pics. The truck used to have a rack/stake body that could
be tilted as a dump truck but that has been removed, The hydraulic lift is still operational.
GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS TRUCK:
-mileage only 59,284 actual miles
- Ford gas big block 460 Fuel Injected engine
- Wheelbase is 161"
- 5 speed heavy duty transmission is a ZF542 with a good clutch
- 10 lug wheels with all 6 tires having very good tread left
- Dana 80 Dually rear axle with overload springs
- Solid beam type front axle with heavy duty leaf springs
- Muncie PTO-Power take off with controls inside cab still fully operational-rear dump still works fine
- pretty good body panels and trim with minimal rust
-sliding rear glass window
-Heavy duty front suspension
NOT SO GOOD THINGS:
- driver's seat has a wear and impression spot the size of the prior owners butt. Could use a better seat.
- Surface rust on rear portion of the frame but the metal is so thick there is nothing serious.
-right side door glass sticks on track , may need a new track. I have the parts and will include in the sale
BAD THINGS:
- One of the rear brake lines rotted and leaking but a very easy fix with no bed on the frame
- No tail lamps, the old ones junked with the rack body. wiring is intact and I could
wire in some lamps if that's a deal breaker for anyone
- one of the dual fuel tanks may leak fuel, probably the steel forward one but not sure
In 1992 this version became known as the F-450 Super Duty and the GVW is rated at close to 15,000 pounds
this would be an ideal truck to turn into a small flatbed, dump truck, Wrecker tow truck, landscape truck or even a trailer tow rig

1969 Ford GT40 Mk III found roaming the halls in Geneva
Wed, Mar 4 2015The halls of the 2015 Geneva Motor Show are filled with all manner of exotic racing machinery, from the likes Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus to McLaren. But there's one peculiar bit of history tucked away that we thought you'd be equally interested to see: a 1969 Ford GT40 Mk III. One of only seven known to be built, this Mk III coupe was intended as a road-going alternative to earlier racing-bred GT40 models, like the original Mk I and 427-cubic-inch, Le Mans-dominating Mk II. Due to its street-legal intentions, the Ford GT40 Mk III boasted revised bodywork that allowed for some luggage and new headlights, along with a redesigned interior with left-hand-drive and a shifter in the normal, center position. The Mk III wasn't very popular when it was new in the 1960s, in part because it looked different from other GT40 models and because it was pretty expensive, but that just means it's an awfully rare gem today. Take a look at the piece of history in our high-res image gallery above. Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production
Tue, 14 Jan 2014If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
Black Zombie electric Mustang launches Blood Shed Motors [w/videos]
Thu, Jun 19 2014As patient zero of Blood Shed Motors, the classic pony car has received a powerful electric transplant. Lightning repeatedly vanquished the darkness like the angriest of strobe lights and thunder shook the building, punctuating the clatter of a heavy Texas rain on the metal roof as the clock ticked away the initial seconds of a rare full moon Friday the 13th. It was then that the Black Zombie came to life for the first time. Beneath the hood of this rust-free 1968 Mustang fastback, a 289-cubic-inch V8 no longer turns gasoline into heat, noise and pollution. As patient zero of Blood Shed Motors, the classic pony car has received a powerful electric transplant, and now boasts twinned Warp 11 DC motors and a pair of fresh Zilla controllers that will serve as the basic blueprint for future vehicles. Dubbed the Zombie 222 drivetrain, the setup will be limited to 750 horsepower in customer's cars to keep the maintenance experience low, and eventually will draw power from a 40-kWh battery pack. In this first example, though, the output is bit more extreme. For one day, at least, they have the 1,500-kW-capable pack that powers the record-setting Swamp Rat 37 racer belonging to Don Garlits and a brief window of opportunity to try it out on a track. Blood Shed Motors is the result of a collaboration between NEDRA co-founder John "Plasma Boy" Wayland, the man who helped bring electric vehicle drag racing to the attention of the world with his unassuming White Zombie Datsun 1200 conversion and Austin, TX business man Mitch Medford, who've put together a small team of experts in their chosen fields. The plan is to build a limited number of muscle car conversions on pristine early Mustang, Camaro, and Barracuda platforms. The plan is to build a limited number of high-quality muscle car conversions on pristine (No restored rust buckets!) early Mustang, Camaro, and Barracuda platforms. Each can be customized according to buyer's wishes and blessed with its own serial number. The price tags will be in the eye-watering $200,000-and-up neighborhood, reflective of the cost and rarity of these cars and the custom nature of the alterations. Of course, you can't just multiply horsepower and add the monster torque that these electric motors put out and expect an antique chassis to hold up.
