FORD F450
W/12FT WORKBED
6.4 TURBO DIESEL
MECHANIC SPECIAL

We have for sale a 2005 Ford F450 Dually with work bed on it. This is a 6.4 turbo diesel truck with automatic transmission. The engine in this truck appears to be stuck but we are not for sure as we cannot gain enough access to the front pulley to try and turn it without taking parts of the front of the vehicle, we did drop the starter and remove the glow plugs in an attempt to turn it from the flywheel with a screwdriver and had no success so we believe that it is locked (assume bade engine). The rest of this truck is in good condition, the cab and clip are nice and straight and not dented up and the paint is in fairly good condition, all of the power accessories work radio works, all gauges work, climate control all works, brake controller and auxiliary switches all work. The interior is in fair condition for a work truck as you can see in the photos it is dirty and the seat and door panels and floor mat all show wear, this truck has manual windows and manual locks. The work bed cage on this truck is 12 feet long and is in good condition and heavy with  dual rear gates that swing open, this cage is the style that the hwy traffic departments use on their trucks and it runs right at $4000 with the job box that is underneath it or $3300 without the tool box. All of the tires are like new with deep tread all the way around with very minimal signs of wear. The undercarriage is all in good shape and has no visible issues. This would be a very easy vehicle to put back on the road if you can work on a diesel. The truck does not have any batteries in it. The inner fender liners and the air cleaner were removed to gain access to the glow plugs and the air cleaner and fender liners are included in sale. Again we believe the engine in this vehicle to be locked requiring either another engine or tear down and rebuild the current engine, we have not taken anything apart on this engine other than the stated items and testing that we have done. We are not diesel mechanics therefor have very little information to help anyone about this trucks mechanical condition. We are selling this truck as is where is and with all proper paperwork to register this vehicle. We do not have the time or knowledge to repair this truck, so we are selling it at a low low BUY IT NOW price as this truck will easily part out for far more than that. At this price you could remove the bed and use it and resell the rest of the truck for a huge profit. If you can work on diesel then you could fix this truck and make a ton of money on it since the only issue is whatever is wrong with the motor. I cant find a book value on this truck in NADA or KELLY BLUE BOOK but an F350 shows to be about 11k low and 16k high so you can bet this truck without the work bed on it is probably from 12k to 18 or 20k value due to its size and being an F450, I personally would sell it for about 12k to 14k if running and driving.

This vehicle has a clean and clear Texas title.

What an Atlas-based Ford F-150 might look like

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Just ahead of January's Detroit Auto Show, surprising rumors pegged Ford as revealing some sort of F-150 concept, perhaps as a hurried effort to deflate some of the buzz building around General Motors' new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins, which were also making their auto show debut. Those rumblings turned out to be true, as Ford rolled into the Motor City with its Atlas concept (inset, right), touting the truck's bold styling as a precursor to the next-generation F-Series.
The show truck featured all kinds of clever details, including active wheel shutters and a front air dam that raised and lowered to improve aerodynamics while preserving off-road ability. It also had a genuinely snarly face. And it's that pugnacious snout that may well be on its way to production. The good folks at TopSpeed have worked up the plausible-looking artist's rendering above by cross-referencing the Atlas concept with what little has been revealed from recent spy shots. The look is toned-down pretty dramatically from the concept truck, but its Atlas roots are clear, with a massive three-bar grille and bracket-shaped headlamps hiding a next-generation EcoBoost engine. In the rendering, the show truck's deeply contoured hood and roofline have been ditched and larger, more traditional side mirrors have been fitted - all likely concessions in the move to production sheetmetal.
While Ford has yet to officially announce when it will unveil the 2015 F-150, all signs point to next year's Detroit Auto Show - one year after the Atlas shrugged off GM's new pickups.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
