When you're looking for the ultimate in cargo carrying capability without sacrificing comfort and reliability, your search will begin and end with a Ford truck that's powered by the legendary 7.3 Powerstroke diesel engine. This 2002 F350 Lariat has all the comforts you've come to expect like power windows/locks/seat, tilt, etc. plus it's a big Crew Cab with quad doors so it has the crew and cargo carrying capability that you need. It's a long bed so you have the carrying capacity without issues of cargo not fitting in the bed. It's hard to find a good-running 7.3 Ford that isn't priced sky high. This is one you can actually use without worrying about anything yet with ICE COLD A/C and all the extra equipment you won't mind being seen in it either.
This is no stripped-down work truck either. It has an AM/FM Stereo with CD player. The big center console folds up out of the way for true 6-passenger capacity plus the rear passengers get their own fold-up armrest plus cupholders. Also included are the optional alloy wheels that really set this truck apart from the crowd. It has also not been used to carry gooseneck or 5th wheel trailers, as evidenced by the lack of gooseneck/5th wheel hookups in the bed. The truck does have a brake controller installed, which is operational. The truck has a few minor issues: The overhead console is missing the two doors and the info center doesn't work. Also the passenger window, power mirror, and cruise switches don't work. There are various minor dents and dings and cosmetic rust spots (at cowboy lights on top of cab, around rear fenders, and cab corners - no holes or leaks) around the truck, as would be expected from a truck of this nature. Lastly, the tires don't match, but are all the same size and all above 60% tread.
This truck was just used to pull another truck from North Ohio to Central Florida, with plenty of power going up hills and no issues whatsoever. With only 292k on the odometer, it's barely broken-in! We regularly see these trucks with 500-600,000 miles and running strong. We've had a local mechanic go over this truck top to bottom and he installed a NEW A/C compressor with 1 year warranty, a new serpentine belt, and installed new High Pressure Oil Pump O-Rings (a very common source of oil leak on these engines). He also showed us the blow-by test, where the oil cap is turned upside down and stays put while the engine is running. We also had a local body shop install new fender flares since there was some rust around the rear fenders. We wouldn't hesitate to get in this truck and drive it anywhere! Feel free to fly in and drive it home no matter where that may be. Best of all, we're selling this truck with NO RESERVE. Bid to win because the high bidder will own this truck no matter how many THOUSANDS BELOW book value that may be!

Hot Wheels Ford Transit Connect is worth more if we keep it in the box
Wed, 06 Nov 2013If the 2014 Transit Connect is anything like it's utile current-generation predecessor, and we suspect it is, it will undoubtedly be one of the most functional vehicles in North America. Ford has used the occasion of SEMA to turn the TC in to things that both make use of that functionality, and occasionally sort of wreck it in the name of good old-fashioned fun. The Ford Hot Wheels Transit Connect most certainly falls into that second category.
Most TC owners might cite the vehicle's massive cargo capacity as its top positive trait, though in the case of this wide-bodied Transit said space has been sapped in the name of a 55-inch television screen, a massive Hot Wheels drag strip (continuing a popular theme at SEMA this year) and custom storage for dozens of models from one's personal hot wheels collection. Designers have also plucked the grippy Recaro seats from the Focus ST, and thrown in a pair of 18-inch tablet screens for connectivity on the go.
Naturally, the Transit Connect wouldn't be an appropriate SEMA vehicle, or Hot Wheels name-bearer, if it weren't wearing an eye-popping appearance package. Additional homage to the Focus RS can be found in the blazing blue and orange front fascia and bumpers, while 20-inch wheels make sure the wider (four-inches in front and six-inches in the back) Transit Connect sits just right. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder-engine that powers the Hot Wheels TC ensures that the concept is more show than go, but you probably had that pegged from your first look, anyway.
Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. Enterprise customer billed $47k for Mustang stolen from rental lot
Sun, 05 Jan 2014A weekend rental of a Ford Mustang GT Convertible sounds like a nice, relaxing way to burn some gas, but one Nova Scotia woman's two-day rental is turning into a months-long headache. In early October, Kristen Cockerill picked up the Mustang from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and she returned it the following day as stipulated by the rental contract. Unfortunately, she dropped the car off on a Sunday - a day on which the particular Enterprise office is closed - and the car ended up being stolen overnight.
Now, two months later, CBC reports that Cockerill received a bill from Enterprise for the full replacement of the car totaling $47,271 (a base 2014 Mustang GT Convertible currently costs $40,349 in Canada). As it turns out, the fine print in the contract says that the renter is responsible for cars dropped off after hours until it can be inspected the next business day - this is also reflected on the key drop seen in the news report video, which states "vehicles returned after hours are the responsibility of the renter until inspected on the next business day."
It's not clear how much, if any, of that amount Cockerhill will be responsible for once her insurance company gets involved, but if the insurance company refuses to pay, Enterprise will bill the amount to the credit card she provided during her rental. While this ordeal is far over for Cockerhill, it's a good reminder for the rest of us to always read the fine print.
