Affordable Trucks and Equipment, Inc sells all types of trucks and equipment. We are located on a nine acre facility at 127 Clendennin Road, Narrows, Virgina. This is conveniently located on US Route 460. We are only 30 miles off of Interstate 81 (Exit 118B) in Virginia, and just 22 miles off of Interstate 77 (Exit 9) in West Virginia. We have been at this location since 2005. If you can't visit us in person, we can arrange shipping on anything to anywhere in the world at very reasonable rates.

Deposits

Deposits are required at the time of sale and can be paid by Cash, Credit Card, or Bank Transfer. We reserve the right to remove any on-line listing due to on-site sales unless a deposit has been paid.

Items less than $10,000, a $500 deposit is required.
Items over $10,000, a $1000 deposit is required.
Deposits are non refundable.

Fees & Taxes:

We do not charge you tax on motor vehicles purchased; however it is your responsibility to pay any applicable taxes as required by your state or locality. If you are a Virginia resident or business, you are required to pay a 5% Virginia Sales Tax on all sales except motor vehicles unless you are tax exempt for resell, or if the item is for 'Farm Use Only'. If you are tax exempt, please provide us the proper forms.

If you are outside of Virginia, and send payment directly to us from outside of Virginia, and if we ship the item(s) to you or you use a common carrier, we will not charge sales tax. If you arrange your own shipping , we will require a bill of laiding. If you pick up your item in person, you will be required to pay the 5% Virginia sales tax as required by law unless you are a tax exempt entity.

Fees

We charge a $49 flat-rate document fee on all sales. This fee is used to cover all required document processing, Department of Motor Vehicle fees (where applicable), and accounting fees.

The Ford Flex has been around. It's not T-Rex or even Model T old, but still; it's been hauling people and stuff since 2008 without a major redesign. That's quite a long time in the car world. Sales have been sliding the last couple of years, and the Flex is now considered a niche player in the crossover-centric US auto market. But that doesn't mean it's still not a pretty good vehicle for its purpose: If you need to haul people and stuff, there are few better choices. Some even think it's a guilty pleasure. I spent a winter afternoon tooling around suburban Detroit in a handsomely equipped Flex Limited. We're talking the 3.5-liter EcoBoosted V6 with 365 horsepower and all-wheel drive. Inside, there were big comfy seats, lots of leather, acres of storage space and even a built-in refrigerator. The drive ended up being surprisingly fun. If there's such a thing as a hot-rod minivan, this is it. I also got noticed. The Flex's boxy design has aged well. It's still polarizing, but there aren't many contemporary vehicles that look like a Flex. So if you've ever seen a Flex on the road, and thought: "Man, that thing is big. I wonder what it's like to drive that?" Now's your chance to find out.

Mulally confirms he's not leaving Ford for Microsoft

In recent months, rumors had been flying about Ford CEO Alan Mulally potentially leaving the company to take a position at Microsoft. Last we heard, Mulally was planning to stick around at Ford through at least 2014, and in an interview today, that bit was confirmed by the CEO himself.
According to the Associated Press, in a report from The Detroit News, Mulally said he will not be leaving Ford for Microsoft, and reiterated that he will remain at the Blue Oval through 2014, if not longer. Mulally has "no plans other than to serve Ford," according to the report.
Mulally did not say whether or not he had been in talks with Microsoft at any point. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said he plans to leave the software company sometime this year.

Ford files trademark application for 'Model E'

In early December, Ford filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the name "Model E." Historically, Ford never produced a Model E, and while automakers are known to file for trademarks they never use, some have wondered if the application might be used for a concept car.
Based on other recent events, though, it could be a legal move. In 2000 Ford sued an online start-up called Model E over the similarity of that name to Ford's industry-shaping Model T, but the judge dismissed the case citing lack of proper grounds. In August 2013, Tesla applied for trademark registration for Model E, and at the time, Ford said it would review the application. Tesla actually made two applications for Model E, one for automobiles and structural parts therefore, the other for "providing maintenance and repair services for automobiles," and there are plenty of theories about what the name could be applied to.
The Published for Opposition date for Tesla's applications is December 31, 2013, after which anyone who thinks they'd be harmed by Tesla being granted the trademark gets 30 days to register their issues. This is just speculation, but Ford's application - which was filed for automobiles only - might be about protecting what it sees as unwelcome encroachment on the name Model T, protection it wasn't able to enforce before when the stakes were only online and much smaller.
