This dump truck was a D.O.T. vehicle, so it was very well maintained mechanically. It has the dependable 7.3L powerstroke diesel with only 104,000 miles, 5speed manual transmission, and it runs and drives great. It was just inspected and is good until 9/2014. It has 2 fuel tanks. A brand new metal side tank, and a plastic rear tank. It is very basic as far as options. It is not equipped with A/C or cruise control, and has just an am/fm radio. Heat works great. It has heated side view mirrors and self leveling beacon lights on top. It also has a engine coolant block heater. It also has a 7 pin trailer plug and receiver.
This auction does include the Boss 8'2" Power V plow. As you can see it was barely used. I checked with a local Boss dealer and they are going for $4900 new with all necessary component and wiring, but doesn't include installation. It also comes with the Monroe stainless steel salt spreader. It is also in very good condition. The auger is not stainless, so it has a fair amount of rust scaling, but it made of very thick heavy metal and has plenty of life on it yet. I also called the manufacturer in Wisconsin and these are going for $4000 new, not including installation. The dump and spreader are fully hydraulic with a hydraulic pump run by the accessory drive belt on engine, which is engaged by a switch in the cab
Everything works as it should. Engine, clutch, transmission, and drive train all work great. The only mechanical issue is the speedometer starts to bounce around +/- 5 mph, once it gets over 40 mph.
Physically, the pictures should give a good idea of the condition. Overall it is in very good condition for an older work truck. The dump bed is in remarkable condition. Unless you just started looking, dump beds in this condition are hard to find. Most rust is just surface rust. It gets heavier near the back where the spreader is. There are 4 pictures showing the only areas that are more than surface rust. 1 - There was a small spot rusted through on the driver's side floor, which was filled in with body filler for inspection. 2 - There is a hole through on the lower passenger side door. 3 - There is a small hole in the rear cross member in front of the rear fuel tank. 4- There is some rot on each side of the rearmost crossmember behind the rear fuel tank. The bottom lip of the front bumper also has some rot on it. The interior is in good condition. The little bit of rust is from an interior leak that was not repaired right away. It does not leak now.
I may have gone overboard on pictures and description, but I want anyone interested to bid with confidence. I can assure you there will be no surprises, and you will not be disappointed when picked up if purchased. If you have been looking for a 1 ton dump truck you will know that manual transmissions seem hard to come by, especially a 4x4 with the 7.3L diesel. So if you have just started looking and these are things important to you, don't sit back and watch, because you won't find this set up again soon.
Item is being sold as and is available for pickup only. No shipping! Since for some reason paypal is not available for auto sales, cash or cashiers check would be accepted. Although I require we at least verify, if not deposit the payment at my at my local bank after you are pleased with final inspection, but before the title is transferred.
If this does not go as a package I will most likely keep the truck and sell the plow and salt spreader separately. Get me your contact information before the end of the auction if you might be interested in those separately. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like more pictures. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Ford Ka Concept shown in Brazil, could enter production by 2014
Wed, 13 Nov 2013The Ford Ka (pronounce it like a Bostonian saying "car") is the Blue Oval's sub-Fiesta offering in a number of markets that aren't North America. It's been a staple in Europe since it launched in 1996 and in South America since 1997, where it's enjoyed quite a bit of popularity as an affordable, efficient city car.
The European and South American models grew apart over the years, until Europe ended up with a Fiesta-inspired car and Brazil retained a more evolved version of the original Ka's styling. With this Ka Concept, which is really a concept in name only, Ford is previewing a Ka not just for the European market, but as the brand's new, global small car. With city car sales expected to grow dramatically in coming years and the ever increasing price of fuel, Ford's move to get a new, competitive car into the market on a global level isn't surprising.
Wearing Ford's new, familial grille, the Ka Concept features the same crisp, sculpted sheetmetal that's adorned the Fusion and Fiesta. Developed in-house by Ford Brazil, a production version could launch by 2014, according to Ford's press release. It's unclear what engines will sit under this car's hood, although we'd bet the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Fiesta will be available at some point.
Mysterious small Ford spied in Germany
Sat, 29 Jun 2013Our spy photographers have just popped off a few shots of something curious. This little runabout was spotted in Germany out testing with a current-generation Ford Fiesta. We're fairly confident the machine is a Ford, but exactly which Ford model is up for debate. The hatchback could be the next-generation Ka, but we've also heard that the Blue Oval supermini might not get a replacement. Our shooter says the five-door is a bit smaller than the current Fiesta, though there is a chance that this rig is just an engineering mule for drivetrain development. Then again, it could be a model built specifically for the South African market or China, or not a Ford at all.
Whatever it is and wherever it's headed, you can check out in the gallery for a closer look before heading into Comments to weigh in with your best guess.
Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.
