So the truck Has 21 inches of lift . . there is about 28k tied up in this bad boy mud toy or daily driver . . .there is extensive precision welding under this truck it is on 46 baja claw tires.. frame painted . . .I have never been looked down on by another truck on the street ,you sit eye level with the semis . . .the 4 wheel is fully functioning unlike most trucks that are road worthy and anywhere near this high. BRAND NEW AS OF LAST WEEK HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH. .driveshafts balanced ect....and I am not sure if you have ever driven a truck like this before . . .but there is NO bump steer and NO pulling.. it tracks straight down the interstate at 70 mph when you take your hands off the wheel . . . that is the difference between a real PROFESSIONAL build and a get er done . . . I would honestly not hesitate to jump in and drive it to California right now. . .toys include things like a huge onboard air compressor powering painfully loud train horns, cb ,megaphone, killer sound system . . ..kc lights a neon. oh and the interior is all mossy oak and we are not talking about seat covers . . ...im talking headliner door panels it has 06 seats w jumpseat arm rest. . .also have a mossy oak upholstered bench seat . . . dual welded shock towers intake tuned exhaust headers dana 70s gears, big disk brakes heavy duty ball joints and entire steering is beefed out.. oh and its a manual with a dog leg. Rubber floor, flamed out gauges, 1999 with 125k miles the motor is a 5.4 powerhouse and I swear it sounds just like the monster trucks at monster jam. And honestly there is other mods Im just tired of trying to type . . .. and I have been offered everything from parking in front of a business for money to have people pay to advertise on it to everywhere you park people are taking picks of it. . .and for some reason women feel the need to flash you . . .as if it isn't distracting enough, trying not to run over SMART cars . . .. . ..and perhaps my favorite thing" I'm a Chevy man and I hate fords ..but that there is one bad truck, that is one ford I really like..

Ford F-450 claims best-in-class towing, company abandons practice of removing items to boost payload number
Tue, 02 Sep 2014The ongoing heavy-duty truck battle between Ford and Ram is showing no signs of slowing down. The Blue Oval is trying to remove at least one point of contention between the two brands by testing its 2015 F-450 Super Duty using the Society of Automotive Engineers J2807 towing standard, which Ram also uses. In the new evaluation, the F-450 is rated at a max towing capacity of 31,200 pounds. That's an identical amount as under Ford's own, previous test.
"We leave no doubt with customers that the F-450 pickup truck has best-in-class towing of 31,200 pounds - whether tested using our own internal towing standards or SAE J2807," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president for Global Product Development, in the company's release.
At the same time, Ford is also changing how it calculates the F-450's payload. Instead of using its minimum curb weight as before, the brand is now using the truck's base curb weight. The revision lowers the pickup's rating to 5,300 pounds, compared to 5,450 pounds previously. The company said in its announcement that the reason for this is "aligning its payload rating practices with other manufacturers to make it easier for customers to compare vehicles." General Motors made a similar switch for its pickups in August.
How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made
Tue, 06 Aug 2013We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.
Want to make an RC chase video of your own? Yeah, we do too. Watch the behind-the-scenes video below (you can refresh yourself on the mini feature film, too) before you get started.
Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year
Fri, 11 Jan 2013With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.
