ORIGINAL OWNER" 2001 Ford F-250 XLT 4X4 Crew Cab Long Bed with the highly sought 7.3 Power Stroke. 119,200 miles. 4X4 off road package, Power driver’s seat no tears or stains on interior. It has had waterproof Cadora seat covers installed since day 1, removed for pictures, but included with the truck along with HD Husky floor mats. No leaks anywhere inside or out. Meticulously maintained. Oil changed every 5K miles with Rotella-T. Transmission flushed every 20K miles. Front diff and transfer case changed every 40 and rear diff fluid changed every 20K miles. Factory tinted windows, power locks, windows and mirrors. Rear sliding window, AM/FM/CD stereo. Paint has some fade in spots but there is no rust or rust bubbles. This truck has NEVER been off road or on the beach. Upgrades include: Remote start, Line X spray in bedliner, Stainless Steel full length running boards, Vent shade window vents, Hood protector, 4” exhaust, Cold Air induction, 5K lb. air bags on rear, greasable ball joints, Oversized Transmission cooler, Banks Trans-command module on transmission. Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
eBay Find of the Day: 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe is showroom fresh
Tue, 27 Aug 2013There's an ultra-rare Ford Thunderbird for sale on eBay, although it's not quite the T-Bird you're probably thinking. This is a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, complete with a five-speed manual transmission and just a shade over 13,000 miles on the clock. The condition is said to be mint, and judging by the interior and exterior pictures, we're inclined to believe the seller. The paint is glossy and the interior looks showroom new, while the underbody is stunningly clean for a 36-year-old car.
Underhood sits a 2.3-liter, intercooled and turbocharged four-cylinder (also found in the Mustang SVO) that was producing 190 horsepower when it left the factory. Inside, the five-speed manual transmission adds to the car's rarity. The vehicle's sole owner has been as immaculate with the paperwork as he has with the rest of the car - it's all there, including brochures and other product material.
The eBay auction ends tomorrow at midnight (9:00 PM if you're on America's west coast). Bidding has reached $10,200, and there's still plenty of time to get in on this future classic. The vehicle is located in Millstone Township, NJ.
Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.
