1988 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat.
**EDIT** I just looked at the Vehicle History Report and it clearly indicates that there are more miles than I thought. More fool me - I was basing the current mileage on what the previous owner told me. Sorry for any confusion. I am the third owner of this truck and Specs: 460 ci V8 engine with fuel injection 5 speed manual transmission Locking rear axle Twin fuel tanks Curt manufacturing class 3 receiver hitch Electric brake controller Fibergalss Service Box with three doors per side. Some doors have shelves, others have hooks. All six door's locks work and are commonly keyed. Box has 4 "D" rings in each corner for tying down large loads. Interior: Cloth bench seat in brown/tan. Behind the seat storage bins. Sliding rear window. Instrument cluster has full complement of gauges. Voltage gauge in cluster does not work; there is an 2 1/8" aftermarket voltage gauge added to the bottom of the dash. A/C components work, but there is a slow leak and would need to be recharged to get much out of it. Cassette player in original radio works - play your .mp3 device through the adapter. Exterior: Two-tone brown paint with some paint fade/peel on hood and roof. Passenger side door gently dented (could be pushed out) and left front fender has a crease above the turn signal. Some surface rust in the lower cab corners, but no holes. Large aftermarket mirrors bolt through the doors and those spots are rusty and need attention. Fiberglass box in good shape with no cracks. Won't rust! I miss that with my larger metal box van. Tires have plenty of life yet. Rims are non-sexy black steel (I swapped the alloys seen in the pictures over to my new van) Wipers are weak and need some attention. I've replaced the switch (that didn't fix it) and bought a wiper motor that I haven't installed yet. Headlights are a bit cloudy; I have a better set that will go with the truck. Exhaust system is a a little loud, but not so much that you'll get in trouble (in my experience). Truck starts and runs faithfully and is ready to help you earn some money or serve as your portable tool or toybox. Please arrange to view and drive this truck prior to bidding. I have described the truck honestly and will answer all questions the same way. More pictures available on request (please allow me 24 hours to respond). Shipping, if requested, to be arranged by purchaser. There is a possibility I could deliver the vehicle to within a few hundred miles of Southern WI - please contact me prior to bidding to discuss. |

Ford calling in 28k Edge crossovers over fuel line leak
Thu, 16 Jan 2014A problem with the fuel line on certain examples of the Ford Edge has prompted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to issue a recall. The issue revolves around the metal housing on the fuel line pulse damper, which was apparently improperly manufactured in the first place and is prone to crack in certain circumstances, leading to a fuel leak. And as we all know, a fuel leak is not a good thing.
The problem affects model year 2012 and 2013 Edge crossovers equipped with the 2.0-liter engine and manufactured between September 2, 2010 and April 25, 2013 - a total of 27,933 units. Although the Lincoln MKX is closely related to the Edge, since it isn't offered with the same engine (to which the problem is related), the recall does not include the premium-badged version. See the recall notice below for further details.
Your official Ford Transit specs are here, $29,565* to start
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Ford has released the full list of pricing and specs on its new Transit, the replacement for the long-lived E-Series cargo van. Prices are set to start at $29,565 and can increase rapidly from there, depending on length, engine and wheelbase, among other options.
Let's talk first about those new engines. The base is the familiar 3.7-liter, naturally aspirated V6. It boasts 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and can return up to 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. This engine can also be adapted to run on LPG or compressed natural gas. Of course, there are better alternatives, for a price, the first of which is Ford's well-received, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It packs 310 hp and a best-in-class 400 lb-ft of torque (available at just 2,500 rpm) while matching the naturally aspirated engine in both city and highway fuel economy.
Then, there's the diesel. With a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel mill at its disposal, the Transit generates 350 lb-ft between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm, along with 185 hp. This engine hasn't been rated by the EPA, although we'd be really, really surprised if it didn't handily best either of the gas-powered engines in fuel efficiency. A six-speed automatic is standard, regardless of engine.
2014 Ford Transit Connect Taxi hopes to fare thee well
Mon, 23 Sep 2013New York City may have selected its taxi of tomorrow, but there are still plenty of municipalities across the US with citizens that depend on yellow livery cars to get them across town in a jiffy. That's why Ford is going ahead with this, the new Transit Connect Taxi.
Based on the 2014 Transit Connect, the TC Taxi boasts a number of features designed to make the compact van appeal to discerning taxi drivers and their fares, with the most notable upgrade being a standardized prep package to convert the 2.5-liter four to run on liquefied petroleum or compressed natural gas. The clean-burning fuel options will allow operators to save on fuel costs and cut down on pollution without sacrificing performance.
A lower load floor and a new twist-beam rear suspension are meant to improve the riding experience for passengers, while the longer 2014 Transit Connect sports extra cargo space as well. In addition to the CNG/LPG conversion, the Transit Connect Taxi can also be easily modified for wheelchair access. Drivers, meanwhile, will have access to optional goodies like Sync with MyFord Touch and a rear-view camera.
