2009 Ford F-150 FX4 supercrew w/ 6.5' bed, not the common 5.5' bed. I'm the 2nd owner. It has the 3 valve per cylinder 5.4 engine,6 speed auto transmission and 3.73 rear gear w/ 150,xxx miles. Clear Texas title in hand.

The truck runs great and has given me no problems. It's oxford white with charcoal interior. It has the offroad package w/ skid plates & electronic locking rear differential. Runs great! 4wd works without any problems. I removed the black fender flares and doorhandles and replaced them with white flares and white Lincoln truck door handles and tailgate handle. The FX4 decals are custom designed by a graphic artist. The F-150 badges have the black parts painted body color, for that custom look. The billet aluminum grille & stainless steel step bars finish off the removal of all the FX4 black trim. The buyer will receive all the stock parts that were removed except the stock grille and tires, so if you want, you can change it back to a black trim FX4.

Other Modification or additions include:

* Kenwood 6x8 4-way door speakers with original single disc radio
* Tinted windows
* Weathertech in-channel vent visors
* Weathertech digital fit floor liners, front and rear
* Weathertech digital fit mud flaps, which are removed, but come with the sale
* Drop-in bed liner, was there when I got it
* Coverking black/grey wetsuit seat covers front and rear
* Rancho 2" Loaded Quicklift front lift with new springs and struts, not spacers
* Rancho RSX9000XL 9-way adjustable shocks and struts
* EBC slotted and dimpled brake rotors front and rear
* EBC Greenstuff brake pads, 7000 series on front & 6000 series on rear
* 305/65/18 BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A tires
* Brand new BFG spare to match the taller tires but not as wide on stock spare wheel
* 18x9 Ultra Predator wheels
* Rugged Liner rear inner fenderwell liners
* Spyder halo projector headlights with CCFL halo rings and 55 watt Phillips HID's for low beam and 100 watt halogen bulbs for high beam
* Spyder halo projector foglights, customized with CCFL halo rings to match headlights and 50 watt Phillips HID's in them.
* Front turn signal bulbs are LED
* Interior bulbs & license bulbs are super white LED's
* Spyder smoked red LED taillights with Cree LED projector reverse bulbs
* Custom aftermarket mirrors with Clear LED turn signals where the orange reflector would be, convex lens in corners of mirror and body colored caps
* Recon smoked LED third taillight
* The last 50,000 miles have seen nothing but Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and Z-max treatments.

* Wilson Cellphone booster installed but needs new cigarette lighter plug or hard wired
* It has a Rancho Myride wireless controller system for the shocks which uses air to adjust the shocks/struts, instead of crawling on the ground and adjusting the knobs on the shocks/struts. I think it has and airleak because the compressor runs too long without stopping. I have the knobs to put back on the shocks/struts if the Myride system can't be fixed.

This truck has a few dents and dings but is extremely reliable, runs like new and looks like no other FX4 on the road.

I am also selling this truck locally and reserve the right to end the auction early, if it sells elsewhere.

Ford faces class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles without brake override systems

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

A total of 20 Ford customers are suing the automaker in a class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles "vulnerable to unintended acceleration." According to Reuters, the suit names 30 models built between 2002 and 2010 with electronic throttle control systems but without a brake override system. Those include the 2004-2012 F-Series pickups and the 2005-2009 Lincoln Town Car. Adam Levitt, a partner with the law firm of Grant & Eisenhofer says the plaintiffs in the case want "to be compensated for their economic losses by having overpaid for cars that contained defects." Levitt contends that the plaintiffs would not have bought their vehicles or paid less for them had they known there was no brake override system in place.
Ford began installing brake override systems in its vehicles beginning in 2010. In response to the lawsuit, Ford has pointed to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that indicated that unintended acceleration is mostly caused by driver error, saying in a statement that, "NHTSA's work is far more scientific and trustworthy than work done by personal injury lawyers and their paid experts."
Belville et al v. Ford Motor Co. will be heard in US District Court in the Southern District of West Virginia.

From Expedition to Navigator: our predictions for Lincoln's SUV

Tue, Feb 7 2017

In the midst of all the buzz surrounding the new aluminum Ford Expedition and Expedition Max, we remembered the other large SUV the Ford Motor Company showed last year, the Lincoln Navigator concept. And since the Navigator has historically been built on the Expedition platform, we figured there's no better time to focus some of our predictions for the big Lincoln. First off, let's take a look at design. Having seen the new Expedition, we're fairly confident that the Navigator will look almost exactly like its concept. The strong similarities between two mean the Expedition serves as a preview of what a production Navigator will look like. For example, both vehicles' greenhouses we can see that the shape of the C-pillars are nearly identical. The only difference is that the Expedition's are painted body color, while the Navigator's are painted black. Additionally, the character line running along the top of the doors on both vehicles is roughly the same height. The same goes for the more subtle crease near the bottom of the doors. We also see no reason why Lincoln wouldn't use the full width taillights, fender vent, and grille treatment it used on the concept. Those are all easy design changes to create differentiation, and they're all right inline with the cues set by the Continental. View 15 Photos For powertrain, we're pretty certain the 400-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 previewed on the concept is a certainty now. The Expedition and Expedition Max will be offered with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost as well, so we know it will fit. We expect the Expedition's engine will produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque as it does in the F-150. That's less power than the Navigator concept, but it would be reasonable to make the production Navigator a bit more powerful than its lowly Ford brethren to help justify the increased price tag. Towing capacity will probably be about the same between the Ford and Lincoln, which should be something over 9,000 pounds. The Navigator will probably use the same two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains, too. Inside is where the Expedition and Navigator will likely differ the most, particularly in seating. The Expedition offers seating for up to eight with an available second-row bench seat, and the Navigator concept had captain's chairs for every row. We're expecting the Navigator will only offer second-row captain's chairs since the cramped third row would be a waste of nice buckets.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part one

Sat, Jun 18 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice with a profanity-laden stream-of-consciousness writing style. Parker lives in Hawaii and spends far more time spearfishing than behind the wheel of a car. Jump ahead to Part Two here, and Part Three here. Big Money and billionaire hobbyists and rockets on wheels. Jets belching French color smoke overhead. Balance of power fuckery. Plenty of water on the ground this morning. Absurdly expensive motorcars lined up in the pissing rain. Fast twitch lunatics behind the wheel. Chomping at the bit. Let's go let's go let's go! Race hasn't even started, Ford #67 maybe dealing with clutch issues. Karma? That beautiful bastard Brad Pitt's out on the track, waving the tricolor flag. It's a standing start in "Noah's Ark" weather and the 2016 24 hours of Le Mans is go! First lap takes place behind the safety car, finished in a record setting 8 minutes 27 seconds. Wrong kind of record maybe, but this is the first time I've set my mind to watching the whole damn race. Feel like I'm part of history. 3:00 AM on Kauai, a little too early for life. Sucking down coffee like a maniac. Don't fall back asleep. Got my hands on four hours of rest, how much more can I need? Better be enough for the next twenty four hours. Gonna get kinda punchy toward the end. Jason Statham on the scene. Four feet of solid muscle, non-existent hairline. Lovely wife peanut gallery sitting next to me calls him the "best race car drive in the world." Not sure if she's serious. Toss up, could go either way. Statham's a funny guy. Heir to the Bruce Willis comedy action crown. Really good in the movie where the fat comedy lady plays a spy. Ford's on the road. Problems with gearbox pressure, apparently. Nearing a half hour in and the safety car is still on the track. Hellish amounts of water on the ground, in the air. Visibility is garbage. Getting better. Twitter wags, "Not with a bang but a whimper." Just building suspense. Mother Nature felt like killing some people today, race officials need to dial back the drivers until it dries a tad. Normal inclination would've seen 'em flying, guaranteed early lap wrecks. Sad news for that bloodthirsty part of my lizard brain I try and keep suppressed. Good news for humanity. #12 in the pit for a bit.
