2007 F150 FX4-- Very nice truck-- You won't find this truck anywhere else, black on black with only 60k miles. I am driving it daily and it's for sale locally as well. Truck runs incredibly well. I have had no mechanical issues with it. It has the upgraded sound system inside by Ford, black/silver interior. Very clean. Power everything, including power sliding rear window. Heated seats, Multiple controls on steering wheel, 6 cd changer, aux cable hook up, and the best combination of interior on these trucks in my opinion, smoked headlights, tinted front windows, black ford emblem, very clean! There are a few small scratches on right corner of bumper. Crack in windshield from a rock that flew up and hit it. I just put a new set of Cooper Discoverer tires on this past winter, but the truck will also come with a set of 4 Pirelli Scorpion tires with about 45k miles on them. Ford recalling 850,000 cars and SUVs for airbag issues
Fri, 26 Sep 2014Ford has announced a major recall of 850,000 vehicles from model years 2013 and 2014 due to a problem with the "restraints control module."
According to Ford, a short circuit could develop in the module, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate. In more severe cases, dependent on where the short develops, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not work in the event of an accident. The problems can be more wide-ranging than that, too, as systems that rely on information from the control module, such as the stability control can be affected.
With 850,000 vehicles affected, it's no surprise that some of Ford's volume leaders are covered. That includes the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans, as well as the incredibly recall-prone Escape and the C-Max MPV.
Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch
Tue, 16 Jul 2013A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
