I am selling my 2005 Ford F-150 King Ranch 4x4.  I am the second owner of the vehicle.  It has been bought and sold in West Texas it's entire life.  The previous owner had a 2 hr. highway commute several times a week and that is the reason for the above average mileage.  This truck has been maintained extremely well and I have always used Mobil 1 oil.  I had the vehicle checked out by a certified mechanic at 142k miles and again within the past year.  There are no mechanical issues or leaks on the vehicle.  Aside from normal wear the vehicle is in great condition and is my daily driver.  There is 2 or 3 minor hail dings on the roof and a couple of door dings, none of them are larger than a quarter and the paint is intact.  On the hood and front end there are a few small rock chips about the size of the head of a pin.  The tires are BF Goodrich All Terrains and have 60-70% of the tread left.  The oil was changed at 155,000 miles with Mobil 1 10w30 Full Synthetic.  The front brake pads were changed less than 500 miles ago.  The transmission shifts like new and has never had any issues.

The vehicle is completely stock except for a few additions.  The previous owner installed an Alpine strereo with Navigation, CD, DVD, and of course a radio. Also there is a Rear Entertainment System with an 8-10in. screen.  The bed of the vehicle has a spray in Rhino Liner.  I recently installed a large Kobalt Tool box in the bed as well. The stock options include: 5.4L V-8, 4X4, Heated Seats, Back up Sensors, Bed Extender, Saddle Leather interior, Towing Package, Tinted Windows, 18 in. Wheels, Fixed Running Boards, Overhead Storage Compartments and many others.

I have done some light towing (U-Haul Trailer) with this truck to and from New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming and it performed above and beyond my expectations even on those mountain roads. It maintained an 18-20mpg average and never had any issues.

The only reason I am selling it is because I would like to get a project vehicle and my wife tells me I can only have one or the other.  As usual she is right.

The buyer is responsible for shipping.

Vehicle is for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells prior to auction ending.

If you have any questions please feel free to call or text me at 432-296-9180 during daylight hours Central Standard Time.

Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models

Thu, Mar 2 2017

The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. When that happens, take your car to the dealer for a replacement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible shown on Twitter [UPDATE w/video]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It hasn't yet been 12 hours since the hotly anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang has been let out into public view. After a series of evocative leaks over the course of the last days, we brought you a full deep dive of the sixth-generation pony car at the dawning of today. And yet, here we are rushing to bring you news of a new Mustang variant, already.
Be it part of a plan to keep the Mustang fervor at full boil, or a misunderstood email somewhere in the chain of command, Ford UK has unceremoniously tweeted a picture of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible. For a newly global Mustang, getting our first look at the droptop from the convertible-crazy British does make some amount of sense.
As for details, well, you're looking at them. Brandon Turkus reported yesterday that the Mustang 'vert would make use of a fully electric convertible mechanism, and that it would be of fabric construction rather than some kind of retractable hardtop. We see here that the fabric part is clearly true, and it does look as though Ford may still be employing the same kind of manually attached tonneau cover that exists right now. Of course, our view from this angle isn't great, and the particulars are still up in the air.
