1990 Ford F-150 Xlt Lariat Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 5.0l V8 2wd on 2040-cars
Kingsport, Tennessee, United States
For auction is a 1990 Ford F-150 extended cab, long bed, 2 wheel drive with a 302 cid (5.0L) V8 engine and automatic overdrive transmission (AOD). The interior and exterior are in great shape, given the age of the truck. It runs and drives fairly well and requires a little work to be perfect such as a tune up, exhaust gasket replacement, and PCV hoses and valves. The transmission was professionally rebuilt and installed by a local Ford dealership about a year ago. The wheels and tires were also purchased and installed about a year ago. The brakes could use some adjustment as they tend to lock up the rear wheels if pressed hard, but they stop the truck just fine. The shocks, suspension parts, and wheel bearings will probably need to be replaced in the near future. The truck has working dual fuel tanks. The air conditioning was removed and replaced with a by-pass pulley. The engine does leak a small amount of oil when parked, as can be seen in the above picture (not sure from where, runs and drips off oil pan toward the rear).
- New parts that have recently been installed include fuel filter, battery, alternator, radiator (heavy duty, 2 inch core), driver side power window motor, engine mounts, throttle position sensor, and 3 freeze plugs. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Happy bidding! On Apr-20-14 at 16:00:08 PDT, seller added the following information: * Please note: I have had this truck for sale locally as well, and may cancel all bids and
end the auction early if the truck is purchased locally prior to the
final auction day as per Ebay's selling terms. On Apr-23-14 at 12:50:44 PDT, seller added the following information: ** The truck is no longer listed for sale anywhere else other than Ebay, so I will not be closing the auction early. There is no reserve price, so highest bid takes it. |

Jay Leno's Garage goes eco with Ricardo HyBoost
Mon, 17 Mar 2014"Now before you turn away, this is not another boring hybrid car thing..." Despite the slightly defensive introduction from Jay, the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage is actually pretty fascinating. The Ricardo HyBoost is a 2009 Ford Focus that has had a 1.1-liter engine swapped in for the stock 2.0-liter four. That might not get you performance enthusiasts out there fired up, until, that is, you hear that the 1.1L is also fed by both a turbocharger and an electrically driven supercharger for an instant-on "torque-fill" effect. Sounds about right, considering that Ricardo engineering is part of the genius behind the McLaren P1.
Perhaps most exciting of all, the Ricardo folks say that the package should run somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,100. A sort of performance-hybrid that makes sense for the frugal driver and the enthusiast one, then. There's a lot more to the HyBoost, all of which can be seen in the video below.
Ford confirms 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine for 2014 Fusion
Thu, 11 Apr 2013Earlier this week, reports were swirling 'round the internet about the 2014 Ford Fusion getting a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. That was... half correct. Ford today confirmed that the 2014 Fusion is, in fact, getting a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost mill, but it has four cylinders, not three.
The new 1.5-liter engine will be the fifth EcoBoost powerplant from Ford Motor Company. Initially to be built at the automaker's Craiova, Romania plant, it will also be offered in the Fusion's twin, the Mondeo, in other markets. This engine will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show next month, and the 1.5-liter is of particular importance in the Chinese market - there is significant tax relief in the People's Republic for vehicles powered by engines with a capacity of 1.5 liters or less.
At a media briefing Thursday, Ford declined to divulge exact power or fuel economy numbers, though Joe Bakaj, vice president of powertrain engineering, told Autoblog that power output should be similar to that of the current 1.6-liter inline-four, and that overall efficiency will be "better than the 1.6." Our earlier report stated that the 1.5-liter four will produce 177 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque - losses of 1 hp and 7 lb-ft versus the 1.6-liter engine. Ford states that the 1.5-liter four will feature many of the same technologies used on the company's 1.0-liter EcoBoost inline-three, including an integrated exhaust manifold that recaptures much of the engine's heat.
Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a lean, mean, Z/28-fighting machine [w/video]
Mon, 17 Nov 2014If there's one thing you can count on, it's that the renewed rivalry between the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro will never, ever cease. For every version of Ford's pony car, there's an equally potent Chevrolet. And so with the debut of the Camaro Z/28 earlier this year, Ford has responded with a track-focused 'Stang of its own, resurrecting the Shelby GT350 name.
It looks to be a fine piece of work, this Mustang, with power coming from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 that will produce "more than 500 horsepower" and "above 400" pound-feet of torque. That grunt runs to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, and a Torsen limited-slip differential keeps everything in line.
But that's hardly the most impressive piece of the GT350 puzzle. Ford has increased the Mustang GT's chassis stiffness for duty here in the Shelby, and the coupe employs MagneRide damping which automatically adjusts based on road conditions and driver inputs. It's a first both for the Blue Oval and for the segment. And speaking of firsts, the GT350 uses a flat-plane crankshaft - something Ford has never included in a production V8 before.
