1972 Ford F100 on 2040-cars
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, United States
1972 Ford F100 in great condition. Mississippi owned. There is no rust. A fresh paint job and bed liner two weeks old. The paint shop informed me that the truck had to have been restored at some point to be in the condition that it was. It's not flawless, but it is a professional job. The truck has never been wrecked. All electronics work as they should. The 302 is strong and the tranny shifts great. The doors open and close with the tender push of two fingers. Mag rims and tires have 90% tread life. There are no rips in the seats nor dash. The PA, CB, and Hooga horn work perfectly. Custom pipes. There is an after market radio. It is nothing to brag about. Everything is stock on this truck. 108,000 original miles. The truck cranks right up with only two pumps of the gas. There isn't any oil leaks and the oil gauge reflects this. This truck belonged to my 85 year old neighbor, Tom. His wife was fearful of him driving it anymore after his knees went out. He pampered this truck and would have never sold it, without his wife's persistence. I equally love this truck and have had so much fun in it. It is by far the most reliable vehicle that I have ever owned. I would trust you could drive this truck across country as I have made a 700 mile trip from (Mississippi to Atlanta) I am listing it on ebay because I can not watch somebody else driving it in my town without wanting it back. The price is 11K obo. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility, however, I can transport the truck up to 200 miles for you, just pay for the gas. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Any questions please feel free to ask. |

Retro Wrong: MotorWeek shares first unaired pilot episode
Fri, Apr 17 2015MotorWeek is an automotive institution in the United States. We all have to get our start somewhere though, and for the latest entry in the Retro Review series, the show is releasing its unaired pilot for the first time. Even today, the program isn't necessarily the most exciting thing on TV, but the modern incarnation looks like Top Gear compared to this original, very monotone attempt. The cars on display are more interesting from a historical aspect than actually being behind the wheel. MotorWeek puts the Chevrolet Citation and Ford Fairmont head to head. If you want to see progress in the auto industry, look here. The Fairmont manages a rousing 85 horsepower from a 3.3-liter inline six, and the Citation does only a little better with a 115-hp, 2.8-liter V6. The other highlight comes at the end when John Davis talks about the cars of the future. These include the upcoming introduction of the Ford Escort in the US and the mention of a possible gasoline-electric hybrid from General Motors. Given this pilot, it's amazing MotorWeek ever got the green light. However, if you're a fan of auto history, seeing the news from the past is always fascinating. What an Atlas-based Ford F-150 might look like
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Just ahead of January's Detroit Auto Show, surprising rumors pegged Ford as revealing some sort of F-150 concept, perhaps as a hurried effort to deflate some of the buzz building around General Motors' new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins, which were also making their auto show debut. Those rumblings turned out to be true, as Ford rolled into the Motor City with its Atlas concept (inset, right), touting the truck's bold styling as a precursor to the next-generation F-Series.
The show truck featured all kinds of clever details, including active wheel shutters and a front air dam that raised and lowered to improve aerodynamics while preserving off-road ability. It also had a genuinely snarly face. And it's that pugnacious snout that may well be on its way to production. The good folks at TopSpeed have worked up the plausible-looking artist's rendering above by cross-referencing the Atlas concept with what little has been revealed from recent spy shots. The look is toned-down pretty dramatically from the concept truck, but its Atlas roots are clear, with a massive three-bar grille and bracket-shaped headlamps hiding a next-generation EcoBoost engine. In the rendering, the show truck's deeply contoured hood and roofline have been ditched and larger, more traditional side mirrors have been fitted - all likely concessions in the move to production sheetmetal.
While Ford has yet to officially announce when it will unveil the 2015 F-150, all signs point to next year's Detroit Auto Show - one year after the Atlas shrugged off GM's new pickups.
