This has been a great project. I've been faithful in every way I could in restoring this truck to original, while also updating it with a seriously Custom new look. This truck has a solid 351 Cleveland engine ( from a Mach 1 Mustang 1971) with tons of power and running perfectly. It has a three speed on the floor with a B & M shifter and shifts smooth. Lays down rubber for Half a block. A few new parts ( freeze plugs, alternator , battery, battery cables ,voltage regulator) , and a tune up/ oil change were the first thing done. Then the truck got a New dual exhaust system from front to back with Dynomax Super Turbo Mufflers, New 3" pipe and chrome tips, taken out the sides right behind the rear wheels.
I completely dis-assembled the truck and sand-blasted the entire cab , cut out any rust spots a had them re-welded in with 16 gauge steel. Then I eliminated the rear bumper and welded in a custom roll pan for that tucked-under look. Also got a new grill, billet inserts and a brand new chrome bumper. new front signal lights, and new lenses in the back. Then it came to the brakes and steering. New wheel cylinders , brake lines, rag joint , I beam bushings, tie rods, axle pivot bushings, Brake pads. Steering is solid as a rock and brakes are tight. I ripped out the whole interior and painted white - re upholstered the seat with new burlap , foam , and a new custom Red/ Maroon vinyl seat cover. Fatmat insulation installed to reduce road / engine noise. New Red carpet, Headliner, New gauges (aircraft style) and a steel gauge panel from a 1967 F-600 complete the interior. New windsheid, rubber gaskets on all windows and doors+ plus new tracks and felt guides on the door windows. The truck got a set of American Eagle Racing Aluminum 5 spoke spades 15 Wheels and sits nice and low on the R245s. This truck is cherry, No rust anywhere, period. Painted engine compartment red, and painted the motor original Ford Cleveland Blue. Then I took the truck into paint with a smooth Rainbow Flake over Gloss Black paint job that pops eyes out of their sockets wherever it goes. The paint is amazing in person and everyone who sees it cant stop talking about it. I got the idea for the paint scheme from a R/T Charger I saw online , and Ive never seen another one like it. This truck is being classified as a Starter Hot Rod. Because it could be taken further with A/C , stereo, ect. But I will leave that to the next owner. I will add more photos soon, as I am still installing new parts; I have put on New door handles, locks and windshield wipers since I took these pics. I have a new original radio antennae that will be installed. I was inspired by a favorite TV show of mine , you know the one where they customize classic cars and drink beer. Pretty much the same thing went down in my shop. I unleashed a team of metal maniacs on this beast and turned her into the beauty you see before you. It took my 1 year to do all this and hundreds of hours of labor. Im sure the new owner will appreciate the attention to detail. Make a serious offer and I will seriously consider it. But please don't make offers if you are not sure about it or don't have the money right now. Buying a classic car is serious business. This is a seriously bad-ass truck. |

These are the cars being discontinued for 2024 and beyond
Fri, Jun 21 2024While we get new and updated car models every year, its inevitable that we'll need to say goodbye to some nameplates as well. This time around, it feels like we have confirmation or reports of an unusually large number of vehicles being discontinued in 2024 and the coming years. We shouldn't be surprised. A large number of automakers are approaching their various target dates for electrification of their fleets. As such, some beloved internal combustion cars are going away, sometimes with appropriate fanfare like special editions. Others are slinking away quietly, killed by slowing sales and changing consumer trends. Of course, the end of production doesn't necessarily mean permanent death. Some of these models could be resurrected in later years ... and probably as an EV. With that in mind, here are the vehicles that are being discontinued in 2024 and beyond.  Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Alfa Romeo ended the production of its combustion-only Quadrifoglio models in April 2024 as the Italian automaker moves toward an electrified future. This isn't the end of the Quadrifoglio entirely, though, with Larry Dominique, Alfa Romeo senior vice president and head of North America, writing, "I look forward to presenting the next chapter in the four-leaf clover’s journey."  Chevrolet Camaro GM is ending production of the Chevy Camaro after 2024, but is sending it off in style with a CollectorÂ’s Edition. WouldnÂ’t it be cool, though, if Chevy brought it back as an EV?  Chevrolet Malibu Rumors of its demise have been around for a while, but now itÂ’s official. GM will end production of the Chevy Malibu in November of 2024. The assembly line in Kansas will be retooled to build the replacement for the Chevy Bolt.  Dodge Durango The three-row Durango is slated to be replaced by the Stealth nameplate after 2024. The Durango name could make a comeback later, according to rumors, on a body-on frame SUV based on the Jeep WagoneerÂ’s platform.  Ford Edge This is the last year for the Edge in the U.S., with the final unit rolling off the assembly line in April. On sale since 2007, the Edge topped 100,000 sales in all but three full years of production.  Ford Escape Newly refreshed for the 2023 model year, FordÂ’s popular Escape compact SUV is reportedly taking its leave in 2025 in order to usher in — you guessed it — an EV in its place.
2016 Ford F-150 gets Sync 3, appearance packs
Wed, Jun 24 2015After the groundbreaking move to aluminum for the bodywork of the 2015 Ford F-150, it's easy to understand Ford keeping the updates light for the 2016 model. However, while there are no drastic changes for the upcoming model year, customers will benefit from a few tiny tweaks. Among the biggest improvement to the truck's usability is the move to the Blue Oval's latest Sync 3 infotainment system to replace Sync with MyFord Touch. Now running on Blackberry's QNX, the software claims to be faster and more intuitive. It also means a redesigned screen layout. As a pickup, the F-150 is meant to work, and Ford's trying to make that a little easier with the newly available Pro Trailer Backup Assist. When activated, drivers turn a knob in the direction they want the trailer to go. From there, the truck makes the necessary steering changes and limits the speed. Finally, for buyers wanting some extra style, Ford is bringing some updates to the exterior. Shadow Black and Lithium Gray are new colors that replace Tuxedo Black and Guard Metallic, respectively. There are also now brawny looking Special Edition Appearance Packages for the XLT and Lariat (pictured above) that include 20-inch anodized aluminum wheels, black running boards, smoked headlights, and side graphics. Both have a dark grille but with red accents on the Lariat and black mesh on the XLT. Inside, the seats feature Alcantara inserts with red bolsters, and crimson accent stitching is throughout the cabin. Finally, there is also the previously announced compressed natural gas prep pack. Feel free to read all about the new 2016 F-150 in the press release below. 2016 F-150 CONTINUES TO INNOVATE WITH AVAILABLE PRO TRAILER BACKUP ASSIST, ALTERNATIVE FUEL CAPABILITY AND SYNC 3 Pro Trailer Backup Assist helps make backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob New Special Edition Appearance Packages available on XLT and Lariat with unique wheels, graphics and finishes Compressed Natural Gas/Propane gaseous fuel prep package available for 5.0-liter V8-equipped F-150s, helping reduce operating costs and tailpipe CO2 emissions The 2016 Ford F-150, part of Ford F-Series, America's best-selling truck for 38 years, continues to innovate with the addition of breakthrough towing technology, new Special Edition Appearance Packages, SYNC 3 and alternative fuel capability. All-new Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes it easier for drivers of all skill levels to back a trailer up to launch a boat or park in a driveway.
Spy shooter claims proof of upcoming aluminum Ford F-Series Super Duty
Thu, 26 Jun 2014Ford has already confirmed that the 2015 F-150 (pictured above) was just the beginning for its more extensive use of aluminum. CEO Alan Mulally said it himself during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. We've even already seen the future Raptor testing with an aluminum body. But a recent discovery from an intrepid spy photographer might indicate that the lightweight metal is coming to the Blue Oval's Super Duty pickups in their upcoming generation, as well.
According to Automotive News, a spy shooter in Colorado spotted a prototype for the next-gen F-350 testing. He happened to have a magnet on hand and got close enough to check the truck out. When he held it up to the metal in the bed, it didn't stick, which signaled to him a switch from steel to aluminum.
Obviously, this claim raises some questions. Given that it was a test vehicle, one possibility is that the Blue Oval is just evaluating the feasibility of switching to aluminum for the Super Duty trucks, not necessarily committed to it yet. Ford has been testing it quite exhaustively, after all. In fact, much of the rest of the truck in question was covered in camouflage, so it's possible that the magnet failed to work along the rest of the body not because it was aluminum, but because it wasn't powerful enough to get through the disguising material. Thus, the lightweight metal's use could be far less substantial than on the new F-150. Still, it was a clever idea for the cameraman to check things out and might have given us the first hint about brand's next heavy-duty models.
