Relisted due to a non-communicating and non-paying bidder.

Well its been a long winter but winter is over and time to sell the Black Beauty. This was my winter project 2014 and it seemed to run over due to lack of time on my part.

This restoration project includes the following:
New paint where the body was worked, primed and sprayed with a quality paint that looks fabulous.
All rust was addressed to eliminate the possibility of near term issues. (truck was a good one to start with)
It has new aluminum wheels that are 15 x 10 inch with Cooper Cobra Tires just mounted last week.
Removed rear bumper and put a roll pan on rear to give it that custom look
Bed is solid and had been sprayed.
Recovered seat with a new seat cover
New Headliner
New sun visors
New arm rests
Refreshed paint in cab
New Interior Door handles and locks
New Dash Cover
New Black Pile Carpet
New Bed Side Marker lights
New Shocks all around
New steering rag joint (tightened steering)
New dual Exhaust front to rear with glass pack mufflers

The truck drives and handles as it should. When I bought the truck I was told the engine had just been gone through but i cannot confirm that. It does start on the first try and runs like a top. It steers tight and brakes as it should. The trunk is a real head turner guys (and gals). I cant drive it to town without people stopping and commenting on how nice it looks. That is typically what I shoot for on my projects as whats the point if people don't like what the end product is. The truck sounds great, the transmission changes as it should and the clutch appears to be strong with no slippage. I am not an expert restoration guy by no means and hire the big stuff done by the pros like the paint job.

Please ask any questions you may have and bid with confidence this is a sharp ride.

Mike

2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.
You can head over to Ford's consumer page and build your very own aluminum F-150 now. Take a look.

Ford issues six recalls covering 101,000 vehicles for multiple issues

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Ford is announcing six separate recalls for a variety of issues affecting a dozen models and a total of 100,610 vehicles in North America. However, according to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker, "None of them have caused accidents or injuries." Half of them cover fewer than 1,000 cars.
The largest recall covers 92,022 North American examples (about 83,250 in the US) of some models of the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Ford Interceptor, Flex and Lincoln MKT from the 2013 and 2014 model years; the 2012-2014 Edge and the 2014 Lincoln MKX. All of them have a potential issue with the halfshaft on the right side that might not be fully seated and could move outward over time. If it shifts too far, the models may no longer be able to drive, and the condition could also allow the vehicles to roll away, even when in Park. Dealers will inspect the shaft to make sure it's seated and will replace the part if necessary.
The next-largest recall covers 5,264 North American examples (4,867 in the US) of the Ford F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis from the 2011-2014 model years. It's possible that an electrical junction box can corrode in areas with salty roads and short circuit. The problem could potentially cause a fire. Dealers will replace the box with an improved design.

Ford adds 850 jobs to build 2015 F-150

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Pickup trucks tend not to advance at quite the same pace as the rest of the industry. That's what makes the new Ford F-150 so remarkable, jettisoning its old steel construction in favor of aluminum. It's a game changer that Ford is betting big on, and in anticipation of surging demand, the Blue Oval automaker is adding 850 new jobs to put the thing together.
Those 850 new employees will be centered at Ford's Rouge complex in Michigan - with 300 at Dearborn Stamping, 50 more at Dearborn Diversified and 500 at the Dearborn Truck facility, the latter of which has already kicked off what Ford describes as "the largest manufacturing transformation in decades." Old manufacturing equipment is being replaced with the latest technologies, and even the Ford Rouge Factory Tour is undergoing a complete overhaul.
The new jobs come as part of the commitments Ford made to the UAW in 2011 to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the United States by 2015 - a number which Ford has already exceeded at 14,000. Over 4,000 of those are centered in southeastern Michigan.
