For sale is a 1959 Ford F100 short box pick up truck. This is an all original truck (except the paint and bumpers) with the 292 V8 and 3 speed transmission. The trucks comes with new tires. The engine is not running at this time but I have had it fire up. It looks as though the carb could use a rebuild. The windshield and side glass is broken and will need replacing unless your going rat rod with then its perfect! The wrap around rear glass is perfect already with no breaks. The floor of the bed has rust through and looks to need new body bushings. The over all body on the truck is solid with the bed being the worst part of it. The cab corners are still solid and the floors are still solid. The doors look to be in very good condition. The radio is missing. The bench seat is all intact with no rips or tears. Get the engine running and this would make a neat rat rod truck as is or restore it to your liking. The frame of the truck is very solid with no issues. Brakes still work good. The truck must be picked up and will need to be trailered. The truck has a clear Michigan title. I require a down payment of $500 within 48 hours of winning the auction and full payment with in 1 week. The vehicle must be picked up with in two weeks. Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines
Mon, 27 May 2013Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.

Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines
Sun, 24 Nov 2013Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.
