1999 FORD EXPLORER SPORT. THE TRUCK IS IN GREAT CONDITION FOR THE YEAR. THE AC BLOWS COLD, STARTS RIGHT UP EVERY TIME, TRANS SHIFTS GOOD, TIRES ARE GOOD, BRAKES ARE GOOD, NEW FRONT ROTORS ETC. THE ONLY TWO THINGS MECHANICALLY WRONG WITH THE TRUCK THAT I CAN THINK OF ARE THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON THE DRIVER DOOR, HOOD DOESN'T OPEN WITH THE HANDLE AND THE ABS LIGHT IS ON DUE TO A SENSOR. AS FAR AS THE BODY GOES, THE PAINT IS SHINEY, HAS TYPICAL SCRATCHES FOR A 14 YEAR OLD VEHICLE AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ROT OR RUST ON THE BODY OF THIS TRUCK WHICH IS SHOCKING FOR AN EXPLORER. THE INTERIOR IS CLEAN, NO RIPS IN THE LEATHER, TYPICAL STAINS IN THE CARPET. OVERALL THIS TRUCK IS A GREAT CHEAP, RELIABLE TRUCK.

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers
Fri, 20 Dec 2013Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.
Weekly Recap: Auto execs face life in prison for recall delays under proposed legislation
Sat, 09 Aug 2014
The stiff punishments are part of broader transportation legislation, but clearly McCaskill has automakers in her sights.
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill threw down the gauntlet this week, proposing a bill that could send auto executives to prison for life if they were found to have delayed a recall. She also wants to eliminate the limit for fines for auto safety violations, which are currently capped at $35 million.
Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.
