1998 FORD EXPLORER SPORT 4X4

This is my daughters' car. The brake line rusted through a week before it was due for state inspection. The whole line should be replaced from the front to the rear. It also needs several other repairs the clutch on the air conditioner is bad, needs a inside drivers door handle, a left rear tail light lens and the body is rusted through at the rear of the door jambs and on the bottom of the rear quarter pannels behind the doors. That is the items I know about. She decided to get another car instead of fix this one for inspection so I did not check out anything else. But it drives well no shimmies or major noises. It may soon be ready for a set of brake pads I am not sure. it has 186,000 miles on it. Like I said it runs great, four wheel drive works, tires are over 50%, tranny seams good to me. It has a brand new alternator on it that is only a few months old. The full size spare looks brand new like as if it has never been on the road. It also has a great high end after market Sonny CD/ Radio. It does need a good cleaning. Please email me with any questions you may have

We are selling this as is with to guarantees. Please ask any questions before bidding.

I am listing this as a local pick-up only. I will gladdly work with any shipping company that the buyer may contract with.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

Wrap up some fun with Ford's commercial vehicle configurator

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed - Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.
We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.

Ford looks back on 50 years of the Mustang in Detroit

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Ford has something special sitting in its booth here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. In fact, it brought two special somethings in the form of the Ford Mustang 1 Concept that first saw the light of day in 1962 and the very first production Mustang that rolled off the production line in 1964.
These classic creations are sharing floor space with the brand-new 2014 Mustang in honor of the pony car's 50th Anniversary. Since Ford's latest 'Stang already made its auto show debut (at a number of locations, including Los Angeles), we think it's pretty cool that the Blue Oval did something special for its home-town show.
Check out both the Mustang 1 Concept and first production 1964.5 Mustang above and below.
