2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, V6, 155,000 Miles
I've had this truck since it had 2,801 miles on it. The truck was wrecked and rebuilt at 2800 miles. It now has 155,000 Miles. The head needs work, two cylinders are tore up, and the overdrive light flashes. The truck is hit on the drivers side back door and quarter panel, but i have driven it without any problems since it was hit. Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles and the original tires are back on it, with less than 10,000 miles on the tires. Will listen to offers, local pickup only (Corbin, KY) and cash only. Truck has aftermarket tail lights, grille and door handles. It is 4 wheel drive has works great, since a new driveshaft was put in, in February 2014. The console is broke on top, but i have an extra one that the buyer can have and installed. The CD player is a 6 disc cd player. Cloth seats. The truck does not have cruise control. The title is a KY title and is a rebuilt title. New as of January 2014 New Driveshaft for 4 wheel drive New Water Pump New Alternator New wheel bearing hub assembly on front driver side. Right now, around 23 percent of all Ford vehicles sold in the United States is a utility vehicle. By 2020, Ford expects that figure to increase all the way to 29 percent. Put simply, SUVs and crossovers are very big business at Ford. So, when it comes time to update the Explorer, Ford's original sport utility vehicle, you can be sure that a whole heck of a lot of effort goes into the process.

Ford is projecting about 28 percent of the next-generation trucks will have the 5.0-liter V8. That's nothing to sneeze at, but consider this: Ford figures its two EcoBoost truck engines - the new 2.7-liter V6 and the existing 3.5-liter V6 - will also each account for about 28 percent of the F-150's sales (56 percent total). That leaves only 15 percent of the pie for the 3.5-liter (non-EcoBoost) V6. The new F-150 goes on sale late this year.

Car-crazy 5-year-old boy writes automakers for treasures, gets big response

Five-year-old Patch Hurty didn't see garbage or a broken piece of a car when he spotted a Ford badge lying on the side of a road. He saw an artifact, a souvenir, a start to a collection he could only dream of. Ezra Dyer of Popular Mechanics tells the story of Patch and his quest to turn that one lost badge into a museum of manufacturer logos. According to the article, Hurty is a car fanatic through and through, even using car names as a way of learning to read. After finding the Ford badge near his Connecticut home, he and his mom put together a plan to reach out to dozens of automakers, confessing his love of things on four wheels. In each letter, Patch assembled a picture of himself standing next to one of the cars, and a penny to pay for whatever he hoped was sent his way. The response was unexpectedly and overwhelmingly positive. Of the more than 50 letters he sent out, including to obscure or defunct companies such as Bugatti, Suzuki, and Saturn, a majority responded with warm notes and some type of souvenir. Two of the coolest responses came from Lincoln and Bentley. Lincoln sent a sketch of a Continental (all car lovers enjoy drawing cars, right?), and Bentley sent a wheel center cap. How awesome is that? The story reminds us of something that can easily be lost in all of the negativity involved with the auto industry: Everybody is in this because of a common infatuation with automobiles.
