GENERAL & EXTERIOR This Expedition is in great condition! I purchased it used from Ford Bowen Scarff in Kent, WA Dec 2009. Since then it has been driven another 20,000 miles only, has run smoothly and been parked in a garage at all times. I had the front brake calipers replaced in 2011 and the brake rotors (front) turned a couple of days ago. At the same time the brake pads were checked as well, they are in excellent condition. Other than the passenger door jamb switch which needed to be replaced, the car has had no defects. Only the Power Mirrors don't seem to work properly in all directions, both won't tilt backwards (upwards), so they would either have to be fixed or adjusted manually. About 4 weeks ago I accidentally hit the garage door switch when exiting so that the roof has a long scratch which needs to be taken care of at some point. The exterior window trim panel (front, driver) has had a discoloration and rough surface already when I purchased the car myself. It could be replaced ('Window Belt Weather Strip'). INTERIOR Pictures of the very nice and clean interior will be added later on Saturday! The driver seat cushion has just been replaced with a brand new one. This is a non-smoker car. TRANSFER The car will have to be picked up. Payment in cash. |

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]
Sat, 18 Jan 2014We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."

Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books
Fri, 08 Aug 2014The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.

This 1969 Ford F-100 has a Cadillac CTS-V engine lurking underhood
Fri, Jan 30 2015Something always feels just a little taboo when someone builds a custom and then slots in a powertrain from a rival automaker. That's exactly the case with this modded 1969 Ford F-100 boasting a highly tuned LSA supercharged V8 like from the second-gen Cadillac CTS-V. However, with a claimed 800 horsepower on tap thanks in part to running an estimated 20 pounds of boost, it's easy to get over any bad feelings. Built by Tommy Pike Customs in South Carolina, the truck tries to keep the exterior looking somewhat stock. Although, the jade green and satin gold paint, Quaker State logo, lowered suspension and black wheels immediately suggest something is up. Once the F-100 starts up with its menacing growl, absolutely any doubts of this beast being unaltered are immediately gone. Not so obvious are some tweaks to actually help put all that power down, including disc brakes and independent suspension setups at the front and rear. The video gives some glimpses at a few of Pike's other creations, but the real star here is definitely his mean, green Ford.
