2001 Ford Excursion Limited Executive Limo Conversion on 2040-cars
Newhall, California, United States
|
This 2001 Excursion is a custom executive limo conversion built and formerly owned by NFL star Marcellus Wiley. His insignia "Dat Dude" is still on the blacked out 22" rims. The whole exterior has been blacked out with double limo tint on all the rear for complete and total privacy. Inside the conversion consists of a power divider with a 32" LCD screen, a pair of power captain chair recliners and 2 jump seats. The stereo in this Excursion cost more than 20k with amps and speakers everywhere powered by dual alternators and 12" subs. This stereo could literally blow out the windows. An AppleTV is installed and it has a DIrectv Tracvision A7 on the roof. It also has 2 more motorized side LCD that flip out at the touch of a button. Its all controlled in the rear with a wifi enabled top of the line kenwood dnn990hd, and another one up front with DVD and navigation on both (more than 2k alone). This ride is perfect for rolling around in traffic, or as an Uber limo, or for keeping the kids in the back. The paint is in excellent condition and its a clear title in hand. The interior shows some minor signs of wear but overall its really really good. Mechanically the V10 is bullet proof and meticulously maintained with all records. This is a unique and fun ride.

Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?
Tue, 26 Aug 2014
Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.
Ford launches pair of recalls affecting fullsize sedans and Transit Connect van
Wed, Jan 28 2015Ford has announced a pair of pretty significant recalls affecting the 2010-2013 Ford Taurus and Police Interceptor, as well as their platform-mate, the Lincoln MKS. A separate recall covers the 2014 Transit Connect. The fullsize sedans include 205,000 vehicles built at Chicago Assembly over a variety of timeframes, ranging between December 1, 2009 and November 30, 2012. The vehicles, 194,889 of which were sold in the United States, have an issue with the spring controls on the interior door handles that could cause the door to open in a side-impact crash. The Transit Connect recall, meanwhile, includes 16,100 vans built between November 6, 2013 and September 20,2014 at the company's Valencia, Spain factory. In these vehicles, the seatbelt fasteners may not have been tightened properly, which could cause them to loosen over time, a condition that's obviously bad news in the event of a crash. Ford says it is not aware of any accidents, injuries or crashes in either recall. Owners will, of course, be notified and asked to report in for inspections and if necessary, free replacements. Scroll down for the full press release from Ford, which includes the complete breakdown of dates during which the affected sedans were built in Chicago. JAN 28, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH.
