My wife is selling her 2011 Ford Escape Limited, which she has kept in a heated garage and has taken very good care of.  This is the top of the line Limited model, with the 3.0 L V-6 engine, leather heated front seats, all wheel drive for excellent traction and safety in inclement weather, and a sunroof for nicer days.  It also has an excellent stereo system with AM/FM CD and SYNC powered by MIcrosoft.  It also has a smooth 6 speed automatic transmission, auto door locks, power windows, air conditioning and a rear window wiper. The wheels are very clean and sharp looking shiny aluminum, 16 inch, with very good tires.

This vehicle also has the tow package with hitch and wiring, and is rated to tow 3,500 lbs.  It has never towed anything, but it has it if you need it.  In fact the reason we are selling it is towing related, as we had a full size pickup truck to tow a ski boat, horse trailer, etc. around, but we sold that and bought a somewhat larger SUV that can both tow and be a daily driver for my wife.  Therefore we are selling the Escape, and eliminating one extra vehicle to title and insure.

The vehicle is located just south of Crown Point, IN, about 48 miles from downtown Chicago.  You are welcome to test drive it during the listing, and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.  It is easiest to get me on my cell phone, which is 219-765-5910 (my name is Mike) or shoot an email,we will answer all questions promptly.

This SUV is in very clean condition, just a couple parking lot dings, but absolutely no rust or body issues.  Mechanically it is like the day it was new.  It has run flawlessly all the time we have had it, and my wife has owned it since it had about 10,000 miles.  It has a clean history, clear CARFAX, and is ready to make someone a happy new owner.  Also, the new owner will enjoy the remainder of the original Ford 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty.

If you like this car but have a car you need to sell first we will consider taking a trade (we have a big extended family and it seems someone is always looking for a car) BUT YOU MUST CALL FIRST so we can both agree on a trade value.  We got a cash offer this month from a big, nationwide used car dealer that offers to buy your car even if you don't buy one of theirs (think you can guess who?) and our reserve is equal to that cash price, and our "Buy It Now" price is at least $2,000 less than they would sell it for.  I note on this car dealers' web site that they want $23,998 for the same car with the same miles on it, so go ahead and bid on this one and save a lot of money!  We'd rather sell it to a fellow ebayer than to the dealer.

This is a local pickup, with payment in full by cash or cashiers check due on or before pickup.

Thanks for looking at this listing, and please call or email with any questions.

Watch this Ford F-150 SVT Raptor fly like an eagle [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a very capable truck right out of the box, but "capable" has never translated into "invincible." Just ask the owner of the machine in this video. In it, the driver gets frisky with an aggressive jump with plenty of speed on his hands. The result is enough air to make Vaughn Gittin Jr. blush. As always, it's not the launch that's painful, but the re-entry. Gravity eventually asserts its dominance over the $43,630 pickup in a big way, and when it comes crashing down, it does so with a vengeance.
The impact was hard enough to set off both the alarm and multiple airbags inside the cabin. It's unclear if anyone was injured in the stunt, but we certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear that was the case. You can check out the stunt in the video below, and remember, when in doubt, back out of the throttle. Be warned, there may be some explicit/NSFW language in the clip.
UPDATE: Second video added with an even better look at the jump added below.

GM, Ford and FCA expected to extend coronavirus shutdown into April

Wed, Mar 25 2020

U.S. automakers General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler are expected to extend their current shutdown in North America into the month of April as the fight to slow the spread of the coronavirus continues. At this point, the exact dates that Detroit's Big Three automakers will restart vehicle production remains up in the air. Ford said in a statement that it does not plan to restart production until at least April 6 but warned it could be further delayed into April. United Auto Workers President Rory Gamble sent a letter to union members saying that FCA had "no plans to reopen on March 30." GM has yet to confirm its plans — its last statement said the decision when to reopen "will be reevaluated week-to-week after" March 30 — but unnamed sources told Reuters that it will also comply with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's order barring non-essential businesses from operating until April 13. Gamble's letter said the union is "waiting to hear from GM and are demanding that they put our membersÂ’ safety first and adhere to government and health officialsÂ’ recommendations to stay-at-home." A spokeswoman for Whitmer was unable to clarify on Tuesday whether auto production is considered essential or not. Michigan has declared vehicle sales by auto dealers to be impermissible under the order, but dealerships and other facilities can make repairs.  The UAW also said two Fiat Chrysler union members — one in Indiana and one in Michigan — have died after contracting the coronavirus. A group representing major U.S. and foreign automakers warned in a letter to U.S. lawmakers with other industry groups on Monday that, "Auto industry analysts are expecting sales to be down by as much as 40 percent in March compared to 2019." The letter said 95% of North American auto plants are currently closed. Reuters contributed to this report. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. 280-bhp Elemental RP1 revealed, now with bike-engine option

Thu, Jun 26 2014

The Elemental RP1 might be Britain's next big boutique roadster success story. Designed by a team with Formula One experience, it aims to mix road car drivability with racecar performance in a single, adaptable package weighing less than 1,000 pounds. It was first previewed a few weeks ago, but the secrecy has finally disappeared due to its upcoming debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The backbone of the RP1 is a carbon fiber and aluminum tub onto which the front and rear subframes bolt on. Inside, it has an F1-like, feet-up driving position that allows for additional underfloor aerodynamic aids to improve downforce. Despite its hardcore nature, Elemental says that it wants the car to be very user friendly. Buyers should be able to drive the RP1 to the track, adjust it with some wrenches, go racing and drive it home. The company even claims the storage areas to either side of the engine offer enough room for a helmet and other racing gear. Hopefully, buyers don't crash, though, otherwise they might be stuck. Elemental is adding two more engine options for the RP1, as well. In addition to the previously announced tuned Ford 2.0-liter EcoBoost with 280 horsepower, buyers can also choose a upgraded version of Ford's three-cylinder 1.0-liter EcoBoost or a model aimed at pure track use with a 999cc Honda Fireblade motorcycle engine. The 2.0-liter uses a six-speed sequential manual gearbox, and a limited-slip differential and alternate gear sets are available as additional options. The first RP1s built will be pure racers for the 2015 season, and the first road cars will follow in the early summer of next year. Pricing isn't set yet, but scroll down for more details and full specs of Britain's latest feather light car for road and track. Introducing the Elemental Rp1 Press Release: 23/6/2014 British sports car manufacturer, Elemental Motor Company Limited, today released further details of their new and innovative, road legal track car, the Rp1. The Rp1 is an open top, road legal, mid engined sports car that incorporates state of the art road and race car technologies. Designed, Engineered and Built by a team with decades of experience in the Formula One and Supercar industries, it brings the concept of a road legal track car firmly into the 21st Century. The Rp1 will be revealed to the public for the first time, this weekend, at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it will located in the Moving Motor Show tent "First Glance" display.
