I just got this in to Sell for a Friend.I must say when I first saw it I was blown away how nice it is so I do my usual and take it for a couple days and put some miles on it to give a real description of it.So after talking to owner he has owned it for 3 years and bought it from the Estate of a good friend who passed away and was the original Owner sense New and he is the one who spent $ 10000.00 about 10 years ago re-storing the Body which in the pictures you can see what a Job they did to get it to look this good and original looking because he loved this Van and wanted to preserve it. he was a plumber that is why all the original wood cabinets are still there on the inside. So after the drive and putting it up on a lift and taking pictures so you can see what I see and answer most of your questions on how it looks. It starts right up when you pull the choke out and pump gas peddle twice No smoke came out the tail pipe it takes a while to warm up almost think a rebuild on the carb would help it out and yes I could have pulled off fresh air snorkel to carb but left to show it's original and falling apart. So once on my way and getting use to the 3 Seed Manuel Colum shift runs great has plenty of Power with the 302 V8 . Drives real good of course no power steering or brakes it's a Real Work Van ! All the gauges and lights work all windows work no cracks Has the Original Owner Manuel !.It's kind of Cool how the door's swing all the way forward when you let them go to the door stop. As you can see with the pictures under the van how much rust was cut out and all New metal was put in and the frame rails being fixed with Real Box Steel to fix the Frame the Right Way ! I try'ed to find a comparable for him to give him a idea what it's worth but there are NO comparable's anywhere to be found because being a Work Van when they were Used up then Junked !!! So this is Super Rare being a 1 ton 1969 and still looking this good it's up to your Bidding what's it worth ...being sold as is no warranty expressed or implied in Connecticut dose *NOT give titles on 25 years or older there is a *Bill of Sale and the *Registration on the bottom of it is a tear off is sign'ed over to New Owner. also for sale locally also feel free to come out and see it and drive it I am 20 min outside Hartford CT 06084 Good Luck Bidding....

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters.
According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.
And while the case - which also involves computer manufacturer IBM - has been tied up in federal courts for years, a recent case from the Supreme Court struck down a similar suit against Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell), arguing that the ATS doesn't apply to corporations or to conduct if it occurred outside the US. In short, the law applies to individuals, but not corporations like Ford or Daimler. A US appeals court ruled that the conditions apply in this case, potentially drawing this long-running saga to a close, as the defendants will now be allowed to request that the case be dismissed in district court.

Ford ST Octane Academy [w/video]

Wed, 04 Jun 2014

The ST school is about more than just handbrake turns, hot laps, and sliding into parking spaces.
I felt like such a rock star. On my second pass around the UrbanCross course (read: fancy autocross) at the Ford ST Octane Academy, I absolutely nailed the exit, sliding the bright-yellow Focus ST sideways into a box the size of a parking space, all four wheels in line.

Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
