VERY Original and classic Ford E-150 Econoline Van that has a basic practical Camp Conversion
YOuTube Vid search at "Ford E-150 Econoline Van For Sale $3800" VERY low miles only 71 000 Miles since new Iam only the 3rd owner. I purchased from the original owners neighbour who was given the car. The original owner was an eldery gentleman who built a camp interior and blinds to take the car for weekend getaways. He was from the bay area in California and the car has lived its life in california until a couple of months ago when i drove the car from LA to Southern Mexico and back up the east coasts of mexico and the USA to where it now resides in New York ( i have included a couple road trip photos) I am only selling the van as My visa is up and i will be leaving for Europe in the middle of July I love the all original paint and interior It does have a few dents on the passenger side from a car sideswipe the A/C does not work the radio receives static but cant find a radio station the 4.9L straight 6 runs perfect and smooth first time every time and the 4 speed auto transmissions changes smooth and correct. All steering, suspension and brakes are in perfect working order with no unwanted knocks, squeaks or sounds.. The van has been garaged since new from all 3 owners and other than the dent in the side from another car, the body is immaculate. The army green window shades all fit perfect via velcro and block the light and heat perfect for camping and the shade over the driver section gives the illusion of a parked car and makes for easy free camping. The car still carries the original california blue plates issued back in 1985 (WORTH $$$$$) as well as sales brochures, maintenance books and econoline 150 manuals. I have also decided to include some vintage roof racks and a 9'1" Longboard with the sale for the full $3800. Please look at all photos and the video I have provided and ask any questions via email, text or phone call.. The car is my transport and home until i fly to Portugal on the 14th July from JFK airport. So the final sale/transfer of vehicle will be on this date. PLEASE EMAIL OR PHONE FOR QUESTIONS OR INSPECTIONS - 808 635 0008 - SAM |

2016: The year of the autonomous-car promise
Mon, Jan 2 2017About half of the news we covered this year related in some way to The Great Autonomous Future, or at least it seemed that way. If you listen to automakers, by 2020 everyone will be driving (riding?) around in self-driving cars. But what will they look like, how will we make the transition from driven to driverless, and how will laws and infrastructure adapt? We got very few answers to those questions, and instead were handed big promises, vague timelines, and a dose of misdirection by automakers. There has been a lot of talk, but we still don't know that much about these proposed vehicles, which are at least three years off. That's half a development cycle in this industry. We generally only start to get an idea of what a company will build about two years before it goes on sale. So instead of concrete information about autonomous cars, 2016 has brought us a lot of promises, many in the form of concept cars. They have popped up from just about every automaker accompanied by the CEO's pledge to deliver a Level 4 autonomous, all-electric model (usually a crossover) in a few years. It's very easy to say that a static design study sitting on a stage will be able to drive itself while projecting a movie on the windshield, but it's another thing entirely to make good on that promise. With a few exceptions, 2016 has been stuck in the promising stage. It's a strange thing, really; automakers are famous for responding with "we don't discuss future product" whenever we ask about models or variants known to be in the pipeline, yet when it comes to self-driving electric wondermobiles, companies have been falling all over themselves to let us know that theirs is coming soon, it'll be oh so great, and, hey, that makes them a mobility company now, not just an automaker. A lot of this is posturing and marketing, showing the public, shareholders, and the rest of the industry that "we're making one, too, we swear!" It has set off a domino effect – once a few companies make the guarantee, the rest feel forced to throw out a grandiose yet vague plan for an unknown future. And indeed there are usually scant details to go along with such announcements – an imprecise mileage estimate here, or a far-off, percentage-based goal there. Instead of useful discussion of future product, we get demonstrations of test mules, announcements of big R&D budgets and new test centers they'll fund, those futuristic concept cars, and, yeah, more promises.
Project Ugly Horse: Part VI
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
European jury picks finalists for 2015 Car of the Year
Tue, Dec 16 2014There are countless Car of the Year awards handed out each year, and naturally, Europe has its own way of doing things. Every year, a panel of jurists representing seven publications in seven different languages and seven different countries get together to name their joint Car of the Year. The panel released a list of 32 candidates back in July, and it has now whittled that list down to seven nominees. The list consists of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the Citroen C4 Cactus (shown), the Ford Mondeo, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Nissan Qashqai, the Renault Twingo and the Volkswagen Passat. Of those seven, only two are available in the US – those being the Mondeo (sold Stateside as the Fusion) and the C-Class. The Passat is an entirely different model in North America, the Qashqai isn't offered here, Citroen and Renault don't even participate in our market and the BMW 2 Series is represented here only by the completely different coupe and convertible. Expect the one and only recipient of the 2015 Car of the Year award to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show this coming March, and while you're waiting, you can place your guesses for the eventual winner in Comments.
