Up for sale is my 1964 Ford Econoline E-100. This cars runs strong and regularly! The old original 160ci inline 6 is gone and has been replaced with a Ford 289 V-8 with a 2-barrel Holley carb, headers, and straight side pipes from Patriot which makes this ride not only sound great but it can also haul a 1000lbs of lumber in the back and go straight up a hill without even noticing it. I've spent a lot of time and money getting this thing to where it is. It's got a standard Ford 9" rear-end, custom billet oil and transmission pan, maltese cross peep mirrors, salt flat hub caps, and much much more. The underside and the cargo area has been completely sprayed with rubber underlayment to help protect and deaden the sound. The pipes are set up for flame throwers as well. I mounted the underbody lights but haven't hooked up the switch yet. The rear cargo area is carpeted I added a second air vent for the passengers side. Seat belts have been added. The folks before me covered the engine housing with padding and cup holders.
The cargo space in this van is actually quite impressive for its size. I've got a number of brand new finish parts and trim (all nice and shiny) from Mac's that I was waiting to put on until everything was absolutely complete. I also have a number of OEM and aftermarket goodies again that I was planning to put on that will go with the vehicle (electric window conversions, hazard lights, etc). The paint job is about 5 years old now. The body is pretty straight (no major dents) only a few dings here and there. The normal rust spots you usually find on this car are there (along the gutter rails on all corners, the bottom left and right corners of the windshield and bottom corners of the doors) . This van sounds great and always turns heads but it does still need a good deal of cosmetic work. 3-Speed Automatic. 119,000 total miles (approximately 15,000 on new engine). More Photos available upon request.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Tue, Feb 11 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.
Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
