We are offering for sale a very nice example of a older true Police Interceptor that was well maintained and has great mileage. This is a 2000 P71 with only 81952 miles on its certified odometer/speedometer. The car is a one owner vehicle bought new with 16 miles on it in September of 2000 by a local municipal police department and for the last few years the car saw very little service.. Our in house service department has gone over the car and inspected and serviced it, everything on this car works. That includes the power door locks and windows, the heat is hot and the air conditioning is ice cold.

This car has the Ford Factory Police Interceptor package which includes a 200 amp alternator, a limited slip rear differential, dual exhaust, heavy duty suspension and frame including sway bars and oil and transmission coolers. Our body shop went over the car and filled in and painted the holes in the trunk lid and roof from mounting radio antenna's and a light bar giving it a much cleaner appearance. The car runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly they way it should. The interior of the car is like new in the rear, the passenger front seat is also like new. The drivers seat has normal wear and a small tear by the seat belt buckle from officers wearing duty gear . The car has rubber floors front and rear which are in great shape.

Again, this car has only 81952 original miles on it and is a one owner vehicle, for someone looking for a Police Interceptor who wants a nice car for the money this car is hard to beat. These cars typically run 200,000 miles plus so this car has tons of life left in it. You can buy the car a drive away without doing anything to it. We will put new Pennsylvania emissions and safety inspection stickers on the car for the buyer.

If you have an interest in this or any of our other CVPI's please call Carlevale Custom Cars at 717-685-1341. You are more than welcome to come and test drive the car before you play an offer if you wish. Since this car is for sale on our lot we reserve the right to end the listing early.

Riding along in Ford's bonkers Fiesta ST Global RallyCross car [w/video]

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

The Mountune-worked Fiesta ST GRC does 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds.
On any given day, and every single weekend, there's at least one parking in the country invaded by manufacturer and team trucks. The be-chromed beasts and their 53-foot trailers are slotted into rows, men and women decorate the lot with orange cones to mark the invisible tracery of a temporary track, cars get unloaded, crews fret over them. The ritual can be as beautiful as the sunrise to those with enthusiast hearts, but it's just as common.

Detroit Three to lose dominance of North American auto output in 2017

Wed, Sep 27 2017

DETROIT — North American vehicle production by the unionized Detroit Three automakers will fall behind the combined North American output of Tesla and automakers from Europe and Asia for the first time this year, IHS Markit forecast on Wednesday. In 2017, the Detroit Three could build 8.6 million vehicles in North America, while Tesla and foreign automakers build 8.7 million, IHS Markit analyst Joe Langley said. By 2024, the gap will widen, with Asian and European automakers and Tesla combining to build about 9.8 million vehicles in North America. General Motors, Ford and the North American operations of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will combine to build 8.1 million vehicles, down 6 percent from this year. Mexico is on track to increase its share of North American vehicle production, Langley said, moving to 4.5 million vehicles a year by 2024 from about 4 million vehicles currently. The milestone for the growth of Tesla and foreign automakers in North America comes as the Trump administration is pushing to limit imports of vehicles from Mexico in negotiations to overhaul the North American Free Trade Agreement. The declining share of North American vehicle production for the Detroit automakers also challenges U.S. and Canadian unions that represent their workers. Canadian workers are on strike at a GM factory in Ontario to protest the automaker's decision to cut jobs and move to Mexico some production of sport utility models built there. Foreign automakers over the past year have announced plans for a wave of new or expanded plants in North America, while Tesla is ramping up to build as many as 500,000 cars a year at its plant in Fremont, Calif. Often referred to as "transplants," the foreign-owned factories are poised to become the mainstream of the North American auto industry. Automakers are increasingly using factories in China or Mexico to build vehicles that used to be assembled solely in the United States, Langley said. He cited as an example Ford's decision to shift production of the Focus small car for North America to a Chinese assembly plant. Jay Leno drives postcard-perfect '32 Ford Highboy Roadster

Mon, 25 Aug 2014

At the turn of the century, it was arguably the Honda Civic that best defined inexpensive performance tuning, and in the '50s it was the Tri-5 Chevys. One of the earliest platforms to gain a huge following among young people looking for a cheap way to go fast was the classic '32 Ford Highboy Roadster. This week, Jay Leno's Garage looks at one of the very first vehicles that defined the look of the hot rod heyday.
This '32 Ford was built in the '40s and graced the cover of the fourth issue of Hot Rod Magazine back in 1948. All of the hot rods that you see shining at car shows today owe a serious debt of gratitude to this roadster. It bears all of the cues that define the look, including a notched frame and hidden door hinges. Under the three-piece hood is a flathead V8 boasting all sorts of period modifications, including copper cylinder heads. It was seriously fast in its era too, and proved it by reaching 112.21 miles per hour on a dry lakebed in 1947.
These days, this hot rod is on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Although, if you can't make it to California to see it, the United States Postal Service is celebrating this Ford with one of its two hot rod Forever stamps. Like Jay says in the video, in terms of hot rodding, "it all comes back to this." Check out the video to learn more about this rolling piece of tuning history.
