FOR SALE 1992 CROWN VICTORIA. ENGINE 4.6 AUTOMATIC, PS PB PW TILT, CRUISE, ALL LIGHTS WORK AND ACCESSORIES. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN JANUARY AND WAS THE SECOND OWNER. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT ABOUT 300 MILES. THE DEALER NEGLECTED TO TELL ME OF ALL ITS PROBLEMS. I PUT 3 NEW POWER WINDOWS IN AND ALL NEW FRONT ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. ALL WINDOWS NOW WORK. THE ODOMETER HAS BEEN BROKEN AND DOES NOT WORK AND READS 174408 MILES, SO I CAN ONLY TELL YOU WHAT IT SAYS AND NOT THE ACTUAL MILES. THE SPEEDOMETER HOWEVER WORKS FINE. THEIR IS SOME RUST ON FRONT LOWER FENDERS. THE CAR IDLES A LITTLE ROUGH BUT RUNS FINE ON ROAD. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FINE. ALL LIGHTS WORK AS WELL AS THE HEATER. THE AIR WILL NEED CHARGED, BUT IS TRYING TO KICK IN WHEN SWITCH IS TURNED ON. GAS FUMES SMELL IS IN TRUNK SOMETIMES AFTER IT SETS. THE INTERIOR IS REAL CLEAN AS WELL AS THE TRUNK. THE TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH A LOT OF TREAD. IT STARTS RIGHT UP AFTER SETTING FOR 2 MONTHS. Project Ugly Horse: Part IX
Thu, 20 Jun 2013One Step at a Time
Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.
Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.
Mustang pinball game will feature art by Ford GT designer
Fri, 13 Dec 2013To celebrate 50 years of Mustang, Ford and Stern Pinball are collaborating on a new pinball machine that will feature the muscle car in all its glory, Polygon reports. Even better, Camilo Pardo, the guy who designed the Ford GT, will provide art for the table; Tanner Foust, Top Gear USA host and professional driver, will handle narrating duties; and a Sony Music soundtrack spanning five decades will provide the tunes.
"The Mustang is one of the most iconic, American cars ever made... What better way to celebrate 50 years of Mustang than with the launch of the Ford Mustang pinball game?" says Stern Pinball CEO Gary Stern.
Watch the promotional trailer for the upcoming Mustang pinball machine below, which will have to hold you over until pricing and availability are announced in early 2014.
