Here is an original vintage 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria 2-door. The car runs and drives well, but will need a few very minor repairs.

The car has original paint. The pinstripe is partly worn off. There are a few small dings on the sides, and two small dents on the hood. There is no rust on this New Mexico car. The vinyl top is fried, and needs to be replaced. The trim strip on the bottom edge of the trunk lid has also dried out.

The air conditioner does not work. Everything else seems to work fine. Sometimes the car needs to be jump-started, even with a new battery. We think the clock might be draining too much power, or there is some other part-time short in the system. Usually, the car starts fine, but we have been leaving the battery disconnected overnight.

The interior is good, with a little wear to the fabric nap on the front seat. The headliner has been recently replaced, with the correct material. One sun visor has a tear, and the dash pad is cracked.

The trunk has the original mat, with a few small stains. The jack and spare tire are in good shape.

The tires are a few years old, but not worn much. One has a mark from the curb.

This car passes emissions very well, and runs smooth. The throttle body fuel injection was cleaned and rebuilt last year.

The chrome is in good condition. There are a few scratches on the back bumper, but not deep enough to go through the chrome.

Yes, this car can be driven home, but we recommend carrying jumper cables, just in case. Contact us if you (or a friend) want to come see the car in person.

Please send a $250 non-refundable PayPal deposit within 48 hours after the auction. The balance needs to be paid within 10 days, by cashier's check or money order, or bring cash. The car should be picked up within 30 days; afterwards we must start to charge storage. Once funds are received, the car is ready to go, and we will send the title along when the car leaves.

Hear the 2015 Mustang GT V8 roar for the first time

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

Our combined knowledge of the 2015 Ford Mustang continues to deepen, as spy shooters have begun to compile video and audio of the upcoming sixth-generation car.
Case in point is this latest series of video clips, which not only gives us a great vantage point of the Mustang in motion, but also allows us to hear the Ford V8 engine and exhaust. After perusing the aural delights of this short video, which, admittedly, doesn't catch the Mustang GT at full song, we can at least say that the throaty exhaust isn't disappointing.
Chances are good that the 2015 Mustang GT will debut with some version of the current (and excellent) Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, though we're unclear as to whether or not the motor has been massaged for its next-gen debut, or what may have been done to exhaust plumbing. At this point, we're just happy to hear the pony run. Scroll below to hear for yourself.

Production of Shelby GT350 is coming to an end

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

One Autoblog staffer who drove the limited-edition Shelby GT350 wrote it probably was the best Mustang he'd driven, but, at some point, the fun had to come to an end: December 31 is the last day the GT350 will be available to order.
The GT350's option list has evolved much like it did for the original 1965-67 GT350. For 2011, the 45th Anniversary edition only came in coupe form and was painted white with blue stripes, just as with the 1965 car. The 2012 GT350 was offered as a coupe or convertible, and three colors were added to the option list, just like the 1966 model. For 2013, more colors and options were added in addition to equipment and styling updates, which resulted in Wilwood instead of Baer brakes. No major changes were made for the 2014 model. From the first car in 2011, customers have been able to choose between three different configurations for their 5.0-liter V8: naturally aspirated with 440 horsepower, supercharged with 525 hp (with warranty) or supercharged with 624 hp (without warranty).
"When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value," states John Luft, president of Shelby American. He may have a point, because the original GT350, which also had a limited production run, is among the most valuable muscle cars in the world.

Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod

Tue, 21 Oct 2014

Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
