You are bidding on a very nice 2000 Ford Contour SE sedan with factory CNG system, that could burn CNG or unleaded fuel by a switch on the dash.

This car was owned by a Arizona government agency until 2005. The car was purchased by a lady that drove to work in Phoenix until last month, when
she was transferred to the Boston area. She stated that she drove the car about 80% on CNG fuel, so the engine thinks it's new.

She recently smelled a CNG leak, and had her shop remove the system from under the car. They found a low pressure hose leaking (fairly common)
I have all the parts, as removed, that need to be re-installed. (see photo) If you are handy with car repairs, this should be an easy project,
to get his car running back on CNG.

In the last few years, she has replaced the timing belt and water pump, belts and hoses, brakes, fuel pump, power steering pump and transmission.
Most recently, two Michelin tires to match the rears, that have about 60% tread. Also, a new premium battery. This car runs and drives like a 50,000 mile car.
The original paint still looks good for a 12 year old car, but the body has it's share of scrapes and dents.
The Rf fender has a small dent, as well as the plastic front bumper. (see photos) The gray cloth interior is far above average, with no pet or smoke odors.

If you are considering a bi-fuel car, this could be a good buy for you. Feel free to call me at 480-330-1927 with any questions about the car, as I also
drive a 2000 CNG Contour. Also, if you have general questions about CNG, call me or contact me thru eBay. We have driven CNG for over 10 years.

Be advised that this car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Also, if you would like to fly into Phoenix to pick the car up,
I would be glad to pick you up at the airport. Also, delivery to Utah is possible for expenses.

The car has a perfect Carfax report. I have priced the car for quick sale. Thanks for looking at my listing.

Saleen SA-30 Mustang, Camaro and Challenger help celebrate the big 3-0

Fri, 22 Nov 2013

After 30 years of tuning performance cars and building racecars, Saleen is celebrating its racing heritage with a limited-production car line called SA-30. Based on the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, Saleen will only build 10 of each SA-30 model at a base price of $95,000.
For that money, buyers will get upgraded suspension, brakes and engines, and while the power figures have not been released for the SA-30 620 Camaro and SA-30570 Challenger models, the SA-30 302 Mustang will be the top performer with 625 horsepower. Each car will be painted up in a custom pearl white hue with black and yellow accents, and get white wheels shrouding yellow powder-coated brake calipers. Inside, the SA-30 offerings will all get a proper Saleen interior with black leather and white Alcantara on the seats, along with the expected smattering of SA-30 badges.
On all three SA-30 models, customers will have various options available to further customize their cars, including a rear-seat delete option that transforms each car's cabin into a race-inspired interior with a chassis-strengthening rear cross brace. Perhaps the coolest feature of all, though, is the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass that is an option on the SA-30 302 Mustang. Similar to the Mercedes Sky Control roof first introduced on the Mercedes SLK, the Saleen Frost-Touch Glass allows the Mustang's optional glass roof and rear window to be switched from transparent to opaque at the push of a button.

Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?

Mon, 24 Feb 2014

Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.

Ford bringing production F-150 to Detroit with Atlas styling and Alcoa blast shields

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

According to a report in Bloomberg, the 2015 Ford F-150 will indeed be showing up at the Detroit Auto Show next month. It will bring attitude with it, not only in the form of sheetmetal inspired by the Atlas concept (pictured) that appeared at the 2013 Detroit show but also in the Alcoa military blast shields among the display being used to showcase the ruggedness of aluminum.
There's been a lot of talk about the F-150 switching to aluminum body panels (although maintaining a steel frame), and for good reason. The lightweight body is expected to shed more than 700 pounds and greatly increase its highway mileage, but production-line issues and possible delays have been a major focus of attention concerning the best-selling vehicle in America for 32 years, meaning Ford has to get it right. F-150 is responsible for a massive portion of the company's global profits and it will come in a year when company profits are already predicted to decline because of new car launches.
When it comes to dings, the Bloomberg story says Ford wants Alcoa to supply some of the military-grade aluminum it uses for blast shields on battlefield vehicles to help it talk up the toughness of aluminum. Reading commentary on the many stories about the F-150 reveals there are many more little questions about the aluminum overhaul, like "How much will it cost to repair and insure?" and "How will companies hang their magnetic signs?" Answers should start coming in a couple of weeks.
