44,000 original miles

This is an all original Ford Bronco XLT

The interior is near mint, there are NO cracks on dash, seats or any trim

Carpet is in great shape with no stains

Pictures were taken without the floor mats to show condition of the front carpet

The floor mats appear to also be original OEM and are in great shape

All bumpers, chrome mouldings, emblems and etc., are all original and in great shape

Vehicle has the numbers matching engine and transmission

Looks like the only thing ever replaced under the hood is the battery

Rear spare is the original tire/wheel combo and never used

Body is between 90-95% rust free

A/C and Cruise Control work great

The ouside of the vehicle is basically untouched. The drivers door above the stripe only, has been painted at some time as has the right door between the stripe and lower chrome door moulding.  Everything else is original paint.  I was going to buff and polish the exterior, but to the right person it might be better as it sits untouched. The frame and undercarriage are in great shape.  No chips or cracks on any of the windows.  If you would like a picture of the engine compartment or anything else please feel free to ask.  I also have a picture of the original "preferred customer" dealership window decal on the front windshield that is in perfect condition.  As far as rust, there is some small surface rust just starting on the inside lips of the front fenders, with the worst one being on the right side as you can see in the pictures.  Like i said, the outside needs a good wax and the tires cleaned to look better, but seeing this gem before anything is cleaned on it speaks for itself!

Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a lean, mean, Z/28-fighting machine [w/video]

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

If there's one thing you can count on, it's that the renewed rivalry between the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro will never, ever cease. For every version of Ford's pony car, there's an equally potent Chevrolet. And so with the debut of the Camaro Z/28 earlier this year, Ford has responded with a track-focused 'Stang of its own, resurrecting the Shelby GT350 name.
It looks to be a fine piece of work, this Mustang, with power coming from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 that will produce "more than 500 horsepower" and "above 400" pound-feet of torque. That grunt runs to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, and a Torsen limited-slip differential keeps everything in line.
But that's hardly the most impressive piece of the GT350 puzzle. Ford has increased the Mustang GT's chassis stiffness for duty here in the Shelby, and the coupe employs MagneRide damping which automatically adjusts based on road conditions and driver inputs. It's a first both for the Blue Oval and for the segment. And speaking of firsts, the GT350 uses a flat-plane crankshaft - something Ford has never included in a production V8 before.

Nuclear-powered concept cars from the Atomic Age

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

In the 1950s and early 60s, the dawn of nuclear power was supposed to lead to a limitless consumer culture, a world of flying cars and autonomous kitchens all powered by clean energy. In Europe, it offered the then-limping continent a cheap, inexhaustible supply of power after years of rationing and infrastructure damage brought on by two World Wars.
The development of nuclear-powered submarines and ships during the 1940s and 50s led car designers to begin conceptualizing atomic vehicles. Fueled by a consistent reaction, these cars would theoretically produce no harmful byproducts and rarely need to refuel. Combining these vehicles with the new interstate system presented amazing potential for American mobility.
But the fantasy soon faded. There were just too many problems with the realities of nuclear power. For starters, the powerplant would be too small to attain a reaction unless the car contained weapons-grade atomic materials. Doing so would mean every fender-bender could result in a minor nuclear holocaust. Additionally, many of the designers assumed a lightweight shielding material or even forcefields would eventually be invented (they still haven't) to protect passengers from harmful radiation. Analyses of the atomic car concept at the time determined that a 50-ton lead barrier would be necessary to prevent exposure.

Ford finally issues recall for 230K minivans over rust problems

Sun, 10 Mar 2013

The rust issue in the rear wheel wells of 2004-2007 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans has finally led to a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration began an investigation into the matter in 2011, said investigation being upgraded to an engineering analysis a year later while NHTSA tried to figure out how many model years should be included in the assessment.
Ford has decided to recall all of the 230,000 minivans potentially affected, namely those sold in salt-belt states and countries like Canada. The excess rust in the rear wheel wells was also able to prevent the third-row seats from locking to the floor of the minivan. To repair the problem, owners can take their minivans to dealers, and the dealers will place new panels in the wheel wells, replace the third-row seat mounting brackets and relocate the latches to an area away from any corrosion.
Ford says it will begin notifying owners during the last week of March.
