ITS TIME TO THIN THE STABLE.
FIRST TO GO IS THE 1966 BRONCO. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS NOTHING. FIRST YEAR FOR THE BRONCO. HAS A PERFECTLY RUNNING 6 CYLINDER ENGINE WITH A 3 SPEED TRANSMISSION. DOES NOT BURN OR LEAK OIL. TRANS AND TRANSFER CASE SHIFT SMOOTHLY. BRAKES AND CLUTCH WORK FINE. ALL GAUGES WORK CORRECTLY. HAS VACUUM WIPER MOTORS. NO RUST AT ALL. ALWAYS GARAGED IN A HEATED AREA. I'M THE SECOND OWNER. I FIRST OWNER CONVERTED THE SHIFTER FROM THE COLUMN TO THE FLOOR. HE ALSO NEVER HAD A HARDTOP OR DOORS FOR IT. HE SAYS IT CAME WITH A SOFT TOP ONLY. I ADDED THE REAR SEAT AND THE SWING OUT SPARE TIRE CARRIER. I ALSO ADDED STAINLESS STEEL TRIM RINGS TO THE RIMS,,,,, BUT I HAVE THE ORIGINAL FULL HUB CAPS THAT WILL GO WITH THE BRONCO. Ford is building this sweet back-to-basics SUV in Brazil
Mon, 02 Jun 2014We're use to forbidden fruit teasing us in Europe. Hatchbacks and diesels from Renault, Citroën, Peugeot, Skoda, SEAT and Alfa Romeo have been a regular torment that we've grown accustomed to over the years. This vehicle, though, is one piece of forbidden fruit we aren't entirely sure we can get over. We need it.
It's called the Ford Troller T4, and if you accidentally read that as either "reborn Ford Bronco" or "Americanized Land Rover Defender," we wouldn't be rushing to correct you. It's a basic, badass SUV, and is the first new vehicle to come from Troller since Ford gobbled it up in 2007. For those with longer memories, you'll recognize this vehicle from the concept that preceded it, the Ford T-R Concept. The production model remains remarkably true to the T-R, as well as past Trollers, but it's a slightly more modern look overall, with LED taillights, contrasting colors
You'll have to bear with us on the details, as we've been forced to rely on the notoriously literal Google Translate to convert the original Portuguese into English, which means some of the details were lost along the way.
What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
Ford's Mulally makes shortlist for Microsoft CEO
Fri, 08 Nov 2013Ford CEO Alan Mulally has made the short list to take over tech giant Microsoft, lending further credence to rumors that the 68-year-old former Boeing exec would ditch Dearborn and move to Redmond.
The report comes from Reuters, which claims that alongside Mulally, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and three candidates from within Microsoft are on the short list to succeed Steve Ballmer at the company's helm, although previous reports claim the Ford exec is the number one candidate. Mulally is currently working without a contract, although Bill Ford seems to believe that he isn't likely to depart. Despite this belief, Ford was quoted just last month talking about the depth of talent on the Blue Oval's executive team.
"There is no change from what we announced last November. Alan remains fully focused on continuing to make progress on our One Ford plan. We do not engage in speculation," said Ford spokesman Jay Cooney.
