1993 Ferrari 512 TR
Between 1991 to 1994, very few 512TR's were produced, considerably lower numbers than today’s standards for Ferrari’s.  The 512 TR sports a 4.9 litre (4,943 cc or 301.6 cu in) Ferrari Colombo 180° F-12 engine longitudinally mid mounted.  Each cylinder has four valves, with forty-eight valves total, lubricated via a dry sump system, and a compression ratio of 10.00:1.  These combine to provide a maximum torque of 491 newton metres (362 ft•lbf) at 5500 rpm and a maximum power of 319 kilowatts (434 PS; 428 hp) at 6750 rpm

This 512TR is a very clean example possessing a new $10,000 factory dashboard, reconditioned front seats, a full leather headliner, and all interior plastic surfaces refinished. Car shows extremely well with no dings
scratches or dents.

Excellently maintained and fully documented.  Only a few miles on the clock since the last 30k mile engine out service performed by Ferrari of San Francisco totaling nearly $16,000.

Included with the vehicle the original owner’s manuals, service book, leather sleeve, optional 4 piece leather Schedoni “Testarossa” embossed luggage set with covers, vehicle cover, and took kit.  Has a custom stereo system with multi cd changer and amplifier.

This vehicle incurred a small front impact, however was professionally corrected in the extremely talented hands of Dave’s Autobody in Sacramento Ca, a restorer of rare American muscle cars and exotics.

Shipping is responsibility of buyer, however any assistance with shippers will be accommodated.  The successful high bidder will submit a $1,000 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours via paypal at the close of the auction to secure the vehicle. Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed and cleared prior to delivery of the vehicle.
Payment Methods: Cash (in person), certified check, bank transfers, or 3rd-party financing.

If you have any questions please call or come look at the car. ( we are a ferrari parts company called ferrparts and are selling this for a close friend who bought his wife a new toy )

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

LaFerrari testing with turbo V6 F1 engine?

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

If Ford went and tested a NASCAR engine in a production Ford Fusion, it'd just be silly. Ferrari testing its new 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6 Formula One engine in a LaFerrari hypercar is not silly - it's excellent.
Now, we can't be certain if the video shown above is actually Ferrari's new F1 powerplant. Based on the big roof-mounted intake, the weird sounds coming from the camo'd LaFerrari and the teasers we've been hearing from other F1 engine providers, the race engine is a tantalizing idea.
The other possibility, perpetuated by our friends over at Road & Track, is that Ferrari is using the LaFerrari to test a next-generation powerplant. That looks good on paper, but this car strikes as being far too loud for any road legal engine. What do you think? What's Ferrari up to at Fiorano? Scroll down for the video and then let us know in Comments.

Colani's land speed record Ferrari for sale

Mon, Jun 22 2015

Everyone knows that Ferraris are designed to go fast, but their performance is measured by a number of different metrics. This particular example, however, was designed with one goal in mind, and that was top speed. And now it's up for sale. The one-of-a-kind creation was the work of Professor Luigi Colani. The car started life as a Testarossa, but was extensively modified and entirely rebodied in order to pursue a high-speed run at the Bonneville Salt Flats. That meant an aerodynamically optimized body designed by Colani to dramatic and wind-cheating effect, and substantially reworked mechanicals as well. The flat-twelve engine was fitted by German firm Lotec with a pair of turbochargers to drive output beyond 750 horsepower. The 1989 Ferrari Testa D'Oro Colani - so named, we gather, for its gold cam cover - was clocked at 218 miles per hour back in 1991, winning its class at Bonneville and far outstripping the 201-mph top speed quoted by Ferrari for the F40 that was all the rage at the time. The vehicle has now been put up for sale by Purosangue Maranello, where (as you can see from the images in the gallery above) it sits alongside another one-off Ferrari: the four-door Pinin concept of 1980 (to say nothing of the Minardi F1 racer in the other corner). If it's a completely unique Prancing Horse you're after, Purosangue (Italian for "pure blood" or "thoroughbred") seems to be the place to look. This content is hosted by a third party.
