1987 Ferrari 328 GTS
U.S. Version
Chassis No. ZFFXA20A3H0073263
  • Excellent Modern Classic & Strong Performer
  • Complete with All Original Books, Spare Assembly & clean CarFax
  • Servicing Records 1988-Present
One of the last Ferraris engineered and launched during Enzo Ferrari's lifetime, the 328 succeeded the highly popular 308 four-cam by offering an increased displacement V-8 and a myriad of detail changes throughout. The mid-engined 328, offered in both hardtop (GTB) and Targa/Spider (GTS) forms, featured an uprated 3.2-liter. Assembled in Maranello until the fall of 1989, the 328 is considered by many to be among the most drivable vintage Ferraris, thanks to its solid performance and general reliability.

Completed in July of 1987 and purchased new on Christmas Eve, 1986 to a Mr. William Wheeler of Kent, WA, this 328 GTS wears subtle Grigio Metallic over Black leather upholstery and carpeting. Grand Prix Motors of Seattle originally sold and serviced the car along with other reputable Ferrari specialists in the Northwest until the mid-2000's, when the 328 change hands and moved to The East Coast. The Ferrari, now residing in Texas, remains very original throughout and remarkably presented.

Despite its age, the car's paintwork is outstanding, along with soft rubbers, clear lenses and glass. Likewise, the interior's upholstery is very clean and unsoiled - the driver's seat shows little use with no rips or cracks present in the leather or dash. A tasteful MOMO steering wheel and modern radio have been fitted. All electronics are in order, including lights, instruments, clock and cool air conditioning. Importantly, the removable targa top seals well and stows nicely behind the seats with protective sleeve.

72363 drives exceptionally well, thanks to years of maintenance and 35,000 original miles; shifting and steering are precise. A tidy undercarriage compliments the immaculate engine bay and compartments. All original books and warranty cards in factory leather sleeve accompany, along with servicing invoices sequentially back to 1988, unused spare wheel/tire and clean CARFAX history report. Ferrari 328 models are rapidly becoming quite desirable among collectors seeking a great classic driver with modern conveniences and a promising future.

Mercedes SL backs into Ferrari 458 Speciale while parking

Mon, Aug 8 2016

There are a lot of people with the money to buy nice cars, but an absolute inability to drive them. And that's how this Mercedes-Benz SL ended up beached on the nose of a Ferrari 458 Speciale. It happened at a Virginia cars and coffee event, and that inability to drive we mention doesn't refer to the poor Ferrari owner. According to the YouTube description, the driver of the 380SL was attempting to parallel park when she landed on top of the hot 458. But since the video doesn't start until the Benz has landed, we only have the video uploader's word. But don't click away yet – the Ferrari's owner returned to the scene. Despite a hint of adult language, he's far more calm than we would be in that situation. That doesn't mean he's not angry, decrying the crash as "the dumbest thing I've ever seen." We agree, especially when you notice space between the 458 Speciale and the Nissan 300ZX in front of it. This was by no means a tight or difficult place to park, even without George Constanza's god-given parallel parking skills. Even a semi-competent driver could have maneuvered a vehicle far larger than a 15-foot-long roadster between the two cars with room to spare. This 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California could sell for $17 million

Thu, Nov 9 2017

Ferraris of all stripes typically command high prices, but the ones that bring in the serious money always have at least one of a few things behind them: additional rarity, racing heritage, famous ownership. This 1959 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider definitely has at least two, and arguably three. The car is one of just eight built with an aluminum body. It also participated in Le Mans, taking home third place for its class, and fifth place overall. Finally, it was campaigned by the Ferrari North American Racing Team, typically referred to as N.A.R.T. As a result, RM Sotheby's estimates this Ferrari roadster will sell for between $14 million and $17 million. Supporting the high valuation are other important things car collectors look for. The car has been certified as authentic by Ferrari's official classic department. It's also won its class at Pebble Beach after its first restoration was completed in 1983. It was restored again between 2010 and 2011 to bring it back to its original race-ready paint scheme. Besides the car's extensive history, it's a gorgeous machine. The 250 GT California line is one of the more iconic from Ferrari, thanks in part to a red replica being the star car of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." The silver and blue color combination is unique and works great. It should also be a superb driver, with a race-prepped engine and notably lighter body. According to RM Auctions, the seller says it's excellent to drive, and if that's him in the pictures, we'd say his smile confirms his claims. The car goes on the block Dec. 6 at RM Sotheby's auction in New York City. To paraphrase Mr. Bueller himself, if you have the means, we highly recommend picking this one up.
