1983 Ferrari 308 Gts Quattrovalvole All Original Immaculate Condition on 2040-cars
Los Altos, California, United States
Up for auction is:
1983 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole USA model. Condition: It is all original. It is in immaculate condition and runs great. It just passed smog without any issues. History: It is a California car and has had 3 owners. It was purchased at Newport Imports in Newport Beach CA on July 27, 1983. The first owner, from Westlake Village in the Northern Los Angeles area, owned it until 1994. The car spent the next 11 years in Orinda, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area, until it was purchased by its current owner in 2005. The third owner kept the vehicle garaged in his home in San Francisco. Odometer disclosure: The odometer malfunctioned for about 5 years and did not record miles driven (a common problem on these cars according to Patrick Ottis company- one of the top Ferrari experts I'm the US.). The car was driven very little and so the recorded mileage is probably only off from the true mileage by about 5,000 miles. Maintenance: For the last 10+ years the case has been maintained by Patrick Ottis Company in Berkeley. Patrick is considered one of the top Ferrari mechanics in the US. The last major engine out service (cam belt etc.) was performed in 2007 at a cost of $8500 (see photo of last page of multi page receipt showing total repair cost). The tires are in very good condition and the battery is a couple weeks old. Stereo: It has a high end Sony CD player, Linear amps, and ADS speakers. What's included: Included are all the original manuals and books, tools, parts manual, and car cover. Info for viewing in person: The car is available for viewing in Los Altos, CA. Interested parties are welcome to have it inspected by a Ferrari mechanic prior to purchase. Questions: Feel free to call Ismael at 4zero83 7three 6one nine 5 with any questions. |

Limited-run Ferrari F12 GTO supposedly headed to Frankfurt
Sun, Jun 28 2015After spy shots of a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in Italy wearing some sticky rear-end camo went public, insiders have told GTspirit that the car is an F12 GTO and it will come to this year's Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It's hinted that the Gran Turimso Omologato changes to the 6.3-liter V12 up front might increase output from 731 horsepower to 800 hp by using the HY-KERS unit from the LaFerrari. That module provides an extra 163 hp to the supercar. True to GTO form, more power would come with less weight, the purported F12 GTO going on a diet of more than 100 kilograms (220 pounds). That would get matters of mass down to a stated curb weight of around 3,140 pounds. More technology could make the jump from its supercar sibling, all hidden underneath more aggressive bodywork and a GTO badge. A production volume of just 650 cars is mentioned, which, if true, would give buyers more chance to procure one; the Ferrari only made 599 units of the 599 GTO. Race Recap: 2013 Italian Grand Prix is mistakes, gremlins and metronomes [spoilers]
Sun, 08 Sep 2013The low-downforce, 5.793-kilometer circuit in Monza, Italy is known as the Temple of Speed, but only a few of the qualifying performances would have clued you into it. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber in the Infiniti Red Bull Racing chassis' lined up first and second, and it didn't seem like Vettel had to work too hard to do so. Nico Hülkenberg truly lived up to his nickname, The Hulk, and put his Sauber third on the grid, a massive drive and turn-of-speed that even he didn't expect, especially with his teammate Esteban Gutiérrez down in 13th.
The rest of the top ten was what you might expect. Shenanigans at Ferrari ended up with Felipe Massa out-qualifying Fernando Alonso for fourth and fifth, a situation that led to Alonso calling his team either "stupid" or "genius," depending on how you translate his Italian, his sarcasm and his honesty. They were followed by Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas, the soon-to-be Infiniti Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso, the McLaren duo of Sergio Perez and Jenson Button and the second Toro Rosso of Jean-Eric Vergne.
Why wasn't Kimi Räikkönen at Lotus in that group? Because his car only had the pace to make 11th on the grid, so he said. And behind him, Lewis Hamilton - who "drove like an idiot," in his words - in the second Mercedes.
